Odd, Chris Hughton was favourite for that. Having said that I think West Brom have made a good appointment and given his efforts at Fulham I think he'll do quite well, not sure if he can stop the rot though. Hopefully he'll let Chris Wood go.

I'd be very worried if I was a WBA supporter at that appointment. I hope I'm proved
wrong because I like Hodgson and WBA -

Too early by far for Hodgson to start again

Looks like a decent appointment, though it's a shame Hughton didn't get the job

Would expect him to try to get the old tried and tested players performing rather than take an 18 year old back considerin g their present situation, so would expect the loan to still be ok for this season.

I meant let go at the end of the season, I think Mr Wood has a lot of potential, more so if Muzza leaves us.

Hodgson is back in his comfort zone at a club like West Brom. He was a bit rabbit-in-the-headlights at Liverpool, it never looked like being the right appointment from the moment it was made, he just wasn't big enough.

I reckon WBA will be alright this season with Woy though, he'll steady the ship and steer them clear. They've had a bad run but there's not a lot wrong there (at least from the outside looking in). Real kneejerk sacking of Di Matteo, I think they'll stay up no probs.

I was going to start a thread earlier asking who people thought would be the best choice for WBA after the BBC Rumours showed that Hodgson was in the frame after appointing Hughton apparently ran foul of him requesting "bonuses". The WBA chairman, Peace, is a tosser who has a track record of treading hard on his managers.

Personally I think they have made a better appointment long term although not necessarily the one who can turn round their dip in form immediately. Going to be a bouncy ride for the Baggies this season. Boing, Boing.

Have to agree with all of that. There are worse teams in the prem than WBA. Hopefully West Ham are for the drop, Wolves and Wigan are a good bet to join them, leaving West Brom as the only remaining "W" - unless Watford are promoted.
