Were they that good, or were we that bad ? WTF's happened during the international break.

Oh dear - what a dreadful performance. The defence were in tatters, the strikers didn't turn up & the midfield had no grip on the game. We only had one outfield player turn up and that was Dunk. Bong, Duffy and Bruno all made multiple mistakes, Murray was the worst player on the pitch, Norwood and Kayal didn't combine and Murphy didn't do much either. If the club won't spend proper money on a centre forward then why rebuff offers for Stephens? Still it's only one game....

They did the basics very well, kept there shape and took there chances. We however did absolutely nothing well. So I guess the answer is both.

Basically we were as bad as I have seen since the hypia days in two areas - scoring goals, and stopping the opposition scoring goals.

Some teams are just difficult to play against for no particular reason. Brentford were distinctly average, but carved such massive holes in our defence that it was an open invitation to score. Hogan took his goals well though.

It's not, we've been drifting gash-ward since the second half against Rotherham

They were not average.
They were better than us every where on the pitch.
You are fooling yourself if you think differently.

They WERE average though. And that's all they needed to be to comfortably see us off.

Until they scored they were nothing special. And then we seemed to suffer under the weight of expectation, getting worse and worse. Thought Hogan exploited the lack of understanding between Bruno and Duffy very well by drifting wide in the first half i.e. Duffy doesn't understand yet that the way we play, he can't expect Bruno to be at right back.

We were poor but Brentford punished us and in the end it could have been more, our total lack of any movement upfront is a huge worry and Baldock coming back is not the answer either, defence looked poor today especially in the 2nd half

I agree with all of this
