I voted yes because I love Tony more. He'd better be right though.

Reading the articles in today’s papers would suggest to me that CH has been a dead man walking for a while now, so yes he had to go. Rightly or wrongly

I think the way clubs sack managers is very questionable,Moore at WBA ,is a prime example. However at least we have sacked our manager in the close season, which shows some respect.........Should we have sacked CH at all.........As others have commented,it’s Blooms ,biggest call IMO.

It's been obvious for quite some time that the players had lost faith in Hughton, his authority must have been at a critical level too which is never a combination you want, especially in the Premier League.

I believe Tony did the only thing he could have, to keep Hughton for another season was only inviting more woes and frustration from both inside and outside the club. Timing is everything and Tony knows that next season we need to push on, both with recruitment and the style of football we play.

Thank you Chris for all you brought to the club, may you land on your feet wherever next you go, thank you for steering us to the Premier League and two relatively successful FA Cup campaigns, you are a true gentleman and we will miss you still.

In Tony we trust, UTA :albion2:

Yes. I would have said no up to yesterday but TB didn't get where he is by indecision. Ruthless, a tad cruel for a thoroughly decent bloke, but I trust the judgement. It felt awfully like a Mike Baillie tailspin these last months. If we want to be 10th say, not scrubbing around at 17th we do probably need this change. Agree that "by mutual consent" would have been better though.

I am aware I am probably in the minority on this one but I am horrified by this decision.

For me the reason we prioritised defending is because we only had 3 forwards in the squad, two of unproven and an ageing Murray getting slower every week. Letting Hemed was stupid and things became difficult, Chris looked at what he had available and played to our strengths just to keep us up.

We saw in the Championship that when we had attacking power, we were positive pretty much every week, destroying other teams at times.

I am shocked by this as I thought the clubs board should and would share this season's failing. I though they would have the manager's back.

Disappointed with this if I'm honest.

A simple question. Was it the right decision?
Yes. To be honest, puzzled anyone could think otherwise. It's not so much the 3 from 23. The performances against Bournemouth and particularly Cardiff were the writing on the wall for me. Something was obviously seriously wrong. A lot of changes need to happen. But you always start with the manager.

I apologise for the cokwomble comment. No need for it, just a bit gutted this morning. Besides, I haven’t wet my bed for at least 3 nights.

I do think this potter rumour has legs though, and it is a huge gamble.

It’s all fun and games. Try to remain positive, trust our Chairman and his team.

I voted No - I think CH had done enough to earn the chance to improve things next season.

But even if you think a change was needed, the manner of the sacking leaves a nasty taste. Surely TB could at least have sat down with Chris and asked him to make a case for why next season wouldn't be a repeat of this one. But as far as I'm aware none of that happened and the chairman just went with his judgement. That's his right, but I think it could have been handled better if he thought CH had to go.

I agree. To see him walking around the pitch yesterday with his grand kids and families, celebrating staying up for a 2nd season, and then to chop him off at the knees today, is really astounding. I hate to think how this reflects on us as a club. Personally I'm finding Blooms tactics here quite disgraceful and not what we stood for and were admired for.

A friend of mine , who I must say is a wind up merchant, has texted to say CH offered to resign in March but TB refused to accept it. Who knows? At least this way he will probably get his contract paid up.

I voted no.

I think Hughton has done a fantastic job and to judge him on one poor half season feels wrong.
He is also an absolute gentleman. I was proud to have him as our manager.

However I think his inability to get anything much out of Andone/jahanbaksh and Locadia is telling and probably is the reason Tony has got rid of him.

As an owner, I can see why Tony was not impressed seeing Chris perform miracles with a championship side.
That was last season's job, which he passed with flying colours. Moving forward Tony needs to know the transfer budget is going to yield improvements.

Tony may have made the right decision, but I would still rather have Chris managing us.
But it's not my money.

No! What a callous way to get rid of our most successful manager, without even giving the fans a chance to say farewell and thank you. Judging by his interview on MOTD last night he was looking forward t next season and unaware of his impending sacking.

Muff and Cardiff were shocking performances. How about vs Spurs and Arsenal, both away from home, both more recent than Muff and Cardiff?

I couldn't be more fence on whether I think it's the right decision if I tried.

CH has had 2 full seasons to sort out the away performance with no success.
Home form has now deserted him so not sure why people think he can turn this around.
Have no idea how the new manager may get on but no point people saying this time next year we will see if this is a mistake.
This is the right decision now and CH leaves with the majority of us still appreciating his work for us.
