Mooy and Trossard are actually quite creative but the former is too slow and the latter can't be arsed. And both get instantly closed down by any manager who has watched a five minute video of Potterball. The rest are a list of issues that Potter seems happy to allow to fester.

I think a year or two in the Championship might be a good opportunity to develop some of our youngsters at the expense of those who are not able to perform at the expected level. I just feel that the investment required for this team to become premier league ready would be too expensive.

I agree with the spirit of the o/p, if not all his assumptions. Yes, Saturday hurt , but the season still has some way to go.
I worry about Potters constant squad rotation, does it keep the players on their toes or make them unsettled if they know they played well ,then get dropped?
I worry about our forward’s inability to score... What causes a good forward to start fluffing his chances? Perhaps those that have played the game at a higher level than me can tell us?
But all that is by the by.. the fact is that we are where we are. There is no time to recruit new players, or a new manager.
We just have to carry on and support.... that’s all we can do.

Only side not to win in 2020, games against Wolves, Arsenal, Leicester, City, United, Liverpool around the corner and many players looking short of PL standard.

Add to that the poor return against 'lesser' sides in recent matches, and the picture is not so great.

You’ve summed it up for me beautifully. We ALL want us to stay up. However, the “fly in the face of reality” positivity comments from much of our support, and not just after yesterday’s game but for at least half a dozen now, is really irking me. #Together ain’t going to save us. Playing McAllister might. Deciding on your best 11 might. Taking the PL seriously and not using it like some tactical chemistry set might. Buying quality ready to play players instead of pursuing ‘10 for 1 development deals’ with a use by date of 2040, might.

Still, our possession and pass stats are wonderful and it’s those that strike terror into, er, um, Championship sides.

You can't remember putting 3 past Spurs? Or the last minute win against Everton or beating Watford 3-0 at their place. And you clearly dont remember our last manager who was also more of an "accountant personality" than a manager and never had a spark in interviews. We may go down but the rest of that is nonsense.

Those magnificent wins were last year!

Before yesterday, we played 4 consecutive games against teams below us, yet drew 3 and lost 1. That is s*** form, and I can't see how we are suddenly going to start winning now.

I hope we stay up, I want is to stay up, but on the basis of results since Christmas, I really think the team and GP are out of their depth.

I'm trying to console myself with the though that at least if we do go down, we might actually be able to enjoy a few wins in the Championship, 'cos I can't see us winning any or our last 10 games: 4 x draws and 6 defeats, I fear.

“Huge gap on our right hand side” hallelujah, someone else has noticed that too, at last. It’s been there all season, I get a concerned first class view of it from the NS.

What’s that all about?

30 yards of space with a pacey opposition LB and LW waiting by touchline, very loosely marked by one or two at best. The sort of space exposed by Jota and Redmond. And they did.

Genuinely I can only think that GP is aware, but proposes that his overloading of of our left flank, destroys the opposition more than their skinning of us down our fight flank. It doesn’t.

I think this is why we brought in Lamptey because is quick which allows a quick recovery in those situations .If we play Bernado at Left Back he is also good at recovering when other teams break . It would be good to see both these recognized LB /RB playing together instead of this Burn Left Wing Back B******s.
