Just finished watching Watford v Liverpool.
I just wish our players could find it within themselves to play with fire and passion. Closing down quickly and attacking with pace.
But for seasons now (with a few exceptions in the odd match) we have plodded around, passing backwards more often than not, stood off, and generally looked like we are at half speed.
Football really isn’t rocket science. The Leeds team in early 90’s did it. Passion, speed, more passion!
So tired and bored of our plodding.
I know it’s been a bad day at the office and it hurts but.....well, that’s how I’m feeling right now.

Last weekend was a good one for us. This weekend a bad one. Swings and roundabouts. It's not over til it's over etc. Keep the faith . UTA.

What’s worse, we’ve plodding for 3 seasons, bar the occasional high.

Whether it be CH’s park the bus, or GP’s possession based poor-man’s-ManC, we are very predictable plodders.

The recruitment (including the Board’s strategy and oversight) has been shit.

Yes - but one swallow doesn’t make a summer: Watford, Newcastle, us, Villa, West Ham, Bournemouth, Norwich are all and remain in the mire. I’m willing to bet Watford lose next week, actually I’d put my mortgage on it. Over confidence is always a weakness, always. Just ask Liverpool.

It’s no where near over. Many twists, and many turns lie ahead.

Think we could possibly beat Newcastle at home and maybe get a draw away somewhere. Could we survive with 32 points? What's the lowest points total somebody has stayed up in the Prem?

Regrettably this - the manager has no passion or spark in interviews. What does that tell the players?

He is more of an Accountant personality than a Manager.

Clearly out of his depth - in so many errors & we gave the useless tool an extended contract !

I can barely remember our wins this season. Still we play some nice passing football.

We are going down

You can't remember putting 3 past Spurs? Or the last minute win against Everton or beating Watford 3-0 at their place. And you clearly dont remember our last manager who was also more of an "accountant personality" than a manager and never had a spark in interviews. We may go down but the rest of that is nonsense.

I think you’re going to struggle to get many wins in your remaining games.
You’ll be relying on teams below you not winning.

That's basically been our last two seasons. Sigh!

Pretty sure we are down now. I really don't mind, come August I'll be buzzing for the championship

I'm almost there with you. I'm resigned to it. Obviously I mind, as nobody follows a team hoping to not win week in week out. However, it's not even going to come close to stopping me getting my teeth into next season. Bring it on.

I hardly think our esteemed owner will think the same as you. After all, we are building for top ten, aren't we?

Not based on our transfer activity in January.

Everyone could see the desperate need for a striker but we didn't get one. Instead we brought back a prospect from loan and left him out the match day squad.

Looks like a long term plan to me.

Problem is once you are in a slump it's very difficult to get out. We are running out of games.

Indeed we are on the crest of a slump. Never mind ' Potterball' as opposed to last seasons anti football a slump is a slump!

When I think about Graham Potter and this brand of football, it reminds me of a prog album, you know a lengthy double album. The Roger Dean artwork promises so much, song titles like; the wizards wand (is broken, parts 1 & 2) with a reprise on side 3. He’s aiming for Close to the Edge genius he really is, yet the guitarist knows three chords and the keyboard player is rocking a battery powered Casio. The drummer can’t arrive on time never mind keep it... right now we’re lost upon the sea trying to pen our tales from topographic oceans with a rhythm section sourced from a long abandoned Woolworths bargain bin.

A non deliberate discord.

I spite of this, the LP will still be worth 1000s in a couple of decades...

Side 4 turns out to be where it all clicks. Shame so few made it that far, shame.

Our recruitment has been terrible we have wasted money on players from poor leagues or got a few on the cheap and hoped they would be good.

Burnley are the perfect example of signing good honest players who put a shift in who were the best in the championship this was the model we needed to follow to build a base in the prem.

I’d genuinely like someone to describe a scenario in which this squad, manager and style of play can pick up the points required over the next ten games. I’d love to believe it. I’d love to be wrong. But to me, we are dead and buried. Gone. We won’t keep a clean sheet in the next ten games and I’d be surprised if we score more than once in a game. Therefore I can’t see another win. Maybe two or three draws. But that’s it. Nothing and nobody can save us.

I'll try to be positive...we need to put away some of our chances. We create them, but our finishing and shooting is really poor.

Man; today sucked but it all felt so inevitable, almost predictable - playing the wrong game against a manager who excels at sitting deep and picking off teams who try to football through two banks of four... sure, it was flat yet we did create a number of clear chances. Upon reflection, on another day, we would have surely won.

So now we’re down, (relegated) in the minds of the pundits, neutrals and our own, our very own negative noodles.... are we? Tonight we sit roughly where I think we’ll finish, we’re not in the bottom three nor will we finish there. Why?

I have a theory, that if we’d won today, it actually would have spelled disaster ... we would have started to get cocksure again, and fancied ourselves ‘safe.’ Now I expect a reaction, paradoxically too on the back of this result, I see Alzate, Lamps and Big Mac all playing a key role as early as next week... these are all good potential outcomes of today’s gut wrenching result.

There’s miles to go, and I still believe we’ll do something special against one or indeed two of the upcoming ‘giant’ clubs... it’s always been our way :)

We lost the battle today but not the war!

Over to the players to deliver an overdue reaction and perhaps, ironically, we can all thank Palace for waking the players up and demonstrating the importance of being clinical.

Peace be the journey x

All pretty football ,simple answer shoot shoot shoot.
