Reading this Baker St pre game seems to be the area of choice. Train departs Doncaster at 10.25. Probs head for beers at Baker St until about 3.30ish
I’d really avoid. Just saying from experience. You’ll be treated 2nd class, ages to get drink, queues for station, police looking for trouble etc. Globe still the only pub I’ve seen a police horse inside of, back in the day. It’s where the Wembley first timers go hence crowded. If do go, pick something up from off license and stand outside with the throngs. Easier. Sure be a cracking atmosphere all said and done but don’t expect to just pop in / pop on to the tube.

Fair enough. Where would you suggest to start building the pre game atmosphere with a few beers? Travelling from Donny obviously but the tube does make London so easy to get around.

The atmosphere outside the Globe will be brilliant I’m sure; but the Met have always viewed as a hot spot so expect attention and overtly fussy ‘you can’t hold a pint beyond this line’ type surveillance and who knows, with alcohol, tempers might even get a bit frayed. Plus the queues to just get inside and to bar are always enormous on match days at Wembley. Depends if you don’t mind waiting eg 20mins to get a drink and then likely in a plastic pot with no room to swing a cat. Hence a sneaky tin and stand outside if you just want atmosphere and drink without the hassle. But Coming into Euston or Kings Cross, I’d be tempted to head to Marylebone Hight Street pubs just bit further up from Baker Street. Several suggestions already on this thread and you’ll be treated like an adult!
Will coming through Kings Cross. I assume majority of City fans will be coming in through Euston. Marylebone High St sounds like a better chance of a decent pint, and a decent atmosphere. Cheers for the advise.
...and of course, your club expects you to crack open the first tin at 10.25 on the Donny express! Sure plenty of Albion and City will be aboard and the bar be drained well before Rugby. Enjoy!
