WSU, just below the seagull.
I know that there are a few options to get there, whether by tube or train, but was wondering from those that have been to Wembley, what is the best option. Not too bothered about the journey to, more the journey home, as i need to get Jr home as quickly as is possible after Wednesday's game as he has school the following day.

Any help will be appreciated.

Options are Underground back to Victoria or Wembley Stadium (Chiltern Railways) to Marylebone (about 10 minutes) then Underground Bakerloo to Oxford Circus then Victoria Line.

hmm.. Wembley Stadium also goes all the way back to the coast, but it might be just as busy as Wembley Park via Victoria.. either way it'll take a good 2 and a half hours to get back to Southwick (took me just over that to get back to Worthing after the Brazil match going via Wembley Park)

Have done both Wembley Park and Wembley Stadium in the two England games i have been to so far.

I think it really depends where u are sitting as to which is the quickest option.

Victoria station will be SHUT after the game, so you will need to go from London Bridge and change at East Croydon if needed.

VICTORIA LINE: Until Thursday 22 November, from 2200 on Monday to Thursday evenings, the whole line will be suspended due to planned engineering works.

Not true in this instance. It is having its opening extended on special nights, such as football, to deal with the extra demand.

At the old Wembley I went as a guest of Carlsberg on a number of occassions with my area manager who lived in Bexhill. He always had to leave just after half time to be able to catch a train back to Bexhill or not drink and drive his car.

I left at full time yesterday and was back in Peacehaven by 9.30. I went to Wembley Park, got straight on a tube to Green Park (and even managed to get a seat) and was lucky with the train back to Brighton from Victoria.

Went yesterday with my boy, we left 5 minutes before the end and then went to Wembley Stadium station to Marleybone and then tube to Oxford Circus, seeme d pretty good to me and avoids the carnage of trying cram into Wembley Patk underground.

My trip home is slightly different, but I left the stadium with my son and his mate about 10 minutes after the match had finished. Walked up to Wembley Park tube station, was on a tube heading north to Stanmore by 7.40ish, in the car for 8.00, and home in Liverpool by 11.00pm.

You could always consider driving ?

I always drive - I will leave at 3pm on Wednesday and be parked just outside of the exclusion zone around Wembley usually between 4.30 and 5.00pm, which leaves about a 20 min walk to the stadium. When leaving, with the exception of the 20 min walk I can always get back to Shoreham in 1.5 hrs, around about midnight (unless there's an acident).

Having driven there to over 30 matches I know the best route in to Wembley and find this option at least puts me in control of my journey, whereas with the train there might be delays, etc. Plus it only costs me about £20 in fuel so with 2 or 3 other people it makes it a cheap option.

My advice would be don't drive - did that v brazil and it took almost 5 hours even with parking outside the ground. For Israel i went brighton - london bridge (1 hour) and then jubilee line from london bridge straight to wembley park (30 mins). Not too busy either, even got a seat all the way there.

5 hours? I could get to Yorkshire in that time, did you get lost?
