Well, Well, Well.......

Stop being so BITTER, banging on about Scotland's failure whilst supporting England who needed Israel to give them a lifeline they decided not to grasp is just plain embarrassing to read.

No-one is denying that we weren't expecting to qualify and needed Israel to give us another chance to blow it.
I'm just correcting you people who are talking utter rubbish, that's not in the least embarrassing

watching the Scots against Italy, I had not really heard of a lot of their players, and you could see that they were limited in the skills that they had.

BUT what they did show was, pride, passion, belief, togetherness and a fighting spirit. Yes they were undone at the death and some dubious officiating, but at least they gave it a go, tried their best, but went down fighting.

Unlike our pile of dross:rant::angry:

In ascendence, meaning they topped their group until the last two matches, what should have been a fairly easy away match and a tough one at home (at the best time for it, as the last match in front of their 'famously fervent fans')?

Beating France twice and losing to the World Cup holders sounds somewhat better than losing to Croatia twice and drawing away to Macedonia and Israel imo. Then to start mocking Scotland IS just plain embarrassing imo.

Try a bit of abuse now, after all why change the habits of a lifetime?

Make me laugh will ya? I am, like most Englishmen, dog-tired of sweaty socks lauding their underdog image and re-living their whipped cur image every time we play, by championing the opposition.
I know we were crap last night, I know that we needed Israel to save us to lose another day - but I don't give a monkeys how hard Scotland's group was - it is a pleasure to know they won't be thumbing their noses while qualified for the cup.

It's not the habit of a lifetime, it's a NEW thing, and I found out that I thoroughly enjoyed mocking Scotland - so I think I WILL now make a 'habit' of it, actually.
I hope they lose to Argentina, Germany, Wales, Faroe Islands.....whoever they play. Feel the IRONY!

England has 10 times the population of Scotland, yet Scotland got more points than us in a harder group. Well done the Scots, shame on you England.

In all honesty, I have no issue with the small plucky nation from up north. I find it hard to take this England-Scotland rivalry thing remotely seriously because we really should be wiping the floor with the small nations. It should be considered a national embarrassment that our small neighbours have beaten us almost as many times as we have beaten them.

I never really understand why they hate us so much. Presumably the xenophobic media who always wrongly talk up our chances? It's not as if most England fans are arrogant when it comes to the national team these days is it?

It was my generation who started it because we kept (not me I hasten to add) that we'd won the world cup. Scotland go sick of hearing it and started retaliating. It is a minority on both sides who keep it going.

Maybe the 'retaliation' started when they beat us in 67, and went round saying they were now the true world champions.

But no doubt when we said it we were arrogant, from them it was brilliant, post-modern irony.

Exactly right. and exactly why you all need to get behind the Alex McLeish for England Manager campaign.

My God, that would piss them off!
