It would have been AMAZING if they were invited to Downing St and then all took the knee when BoJo bumbled in.

It would be disappointing if they went.

The players have been treated poorly by the Prime Minister of their own country that they represent.

Everyway they've turned he's used them as a pawn to maintain his 'divide and conquer' leadership.

They just can't validate him by going to nos 10.

Tyrone Mings's tweet in reply to Priti Patel:

"You don’t get to stoke the fire at the beginning of the tournament by labelling our anti-racism message as ‘Gesture Politics’ & then pretend to be disgusted when the very thing we’re campaigning against, happens."

He should never have been picked for England ahead of Lewis Dunk, but I have to applaud him for this.

Yep. Don't rate him as a footballer at all but clearly a really decent and intelligent bloke and he's absolutely spot on with this.

Is the right answer.

I don't see it as any of that, it's just libtard baiting.

'We' wonder how 'we' got into this f**king mess without ever looking at how 'we' converse with each other.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if BL privately thought Mings had a point, but that's not how this game is played.
So we get this instead, because it'll really wind up us yoghurt knitters.

It's exactly the same when GBNews went on air, my lot couldn't wait to get stuck into the gammons.
I'm sure more people watched the first few hours wearing sandals than anyone wearing a wife beater.

10 reposts since 7:30, calling him wrong - that'll power him through the rest of the morning.

It’s an interesting point, how to respond to stuff like BL’s post. I guess it depends what the aim is. If it’s to educate BL / change his/her mind an online argument is not going to do that. Perhaps responding does give the opposite view to anyone who reads BL’s post and thinks “maybe he/she has a point”. Perhaps ignoring him/her would mean BL would give up posting stuff like that.

Either give up or go so far right to maintain the attention they find themselves banned.

Sorry, I'm not saying he isn't racist and I'm not saying it's 'just a wind up', I apologise for not making that clear.

What I'm saying is this poster knows he can get all the attention he craves by being racist here, whether he agrees 100% with the drivel he posts or not.

I'm sure there were posters actively waiting for BL's opinion, just so they can call him a racist - again.

Seems to be a win/win then. The troll gets to giggle away in their cave and congratulate themselves at how clever they are whilst decent human beings get to feel like they have made a stand against evil. Of course the world isn't much improved by another drip of poison but then you can't have everything.

What he's succeeded in - and I'm afraid you're unintentionally complicit in this - is make this about him and not about a disgusting bully of a Home Secretary who uses her BAME identity only when it suits her.

That's the story here.

You'd think the PM would've invited the England players to Number 10 by now if he thought they would say yes...

What this England team have achieved both on and off the pitch has been remarkable. They have successfully pulled the mask from the government's face and revealed their ugliness to the nation.

Tyrone Mings just cut through the BS and said it like it is, still don't rate him as defender but he is one hell of bloke. Absolutely top stuff.

I suspect you are correct. The advisors will have sussed which way the wind is blowing in the last few days plus have it in their minds when Trump was told to do one by the American Football and baseball teams. A collective snub by the whole squad would be a PR disaster.

The whole episode seems to have been very divisive, time to move on,we all enjoy living in the most tolerant and diverse nation on the planet, long may that continue.
As was found out in Neil Maupay case earlier,a lot of the abusive tweets come from accounts the other side of the world. Twitter and other social media outlets really need to sort this out, and fast.

Time to move on? Yeah, because people in this country of "TWO WORLD WARS AND ONE WORLD CUP", "THINGS WERE SO MUCH BETTER IN THE GOOD OLD DAYS" and "55 YEARS OF HURT" are REALLY progressive and forward-thinking :dunce:

As for the content of those two tweets? Whataboutism and misinterpretation at its finest...

Which is ****ing stupid. It just muddies the waters and give every closet racist an excuse to post shit under the guise of a wide up.

And here in lies the problem we have with online racism, the social media platforms are simply not doing enough. When was the last time you heard racism in the stands( with the exception of the knuckle dragging idiots at Burnley) social media gives everyone a megaphone nowadays, the anonymity gives people the courage to spew vile abuse , when they would not dream of say these things to someone’s face, it needs to stop.
As for the knee taking..do I agree with it? No,The kick out and show racism the red card campaign,in my opinion, were great, also the hope united campaign seems to be really getting the message across. Do I agree with booing the knee? Absolutely not,do I agree with booing national anthems? Absolutely not, it’s the main reason stopped following England, home and away ( yes I am one of the few that witnessed us going 1-0 down to San Marino)
We live in a free, liberal society, like it or not people have the right to agree or disagree, that is where we stand. Social media needs to do more....in my opinion.

Your racist trolling may be 'subtle' compared to your anti-semitic bestie Pretty pink fairy, but that really is no achievement :dunce:

MOD EDIT - video removed. It's already been posted three times in the bear pit if anyone wants to see it,

They should do what I've done perhaps - put him on ignore thereby rendering his interventions null and void. If they choose to read his posts they are almost obliged to respond. I don't think you need to actively wait to be sucked into that.

For his own sake, as well as the sake of us libtards, his membership of this forum really ought to be discontinued. It was the same problem with Loony - posting silly things he probably didn't believe, himself, just to antagonize people.

The government should be taking the lead, they are not and you appear to agree with this approach which quite frankly is unacceptable. Why you give the waste of oxygen that is Patel any leeway is beyond me. A Liberal society doesn’t mean you can act like a ****, nor does it allow people to post racist bollocks.

I don't agree with the 'ignore' function.
I don't agree with the banning of 'law abiding' trolls.

If such posters are happy to dilute their inner monologue to a just passable level then crack on.

Quite why anyone feels almost obliged to respond to someone who only ever posts racially inappropriate bile is completely beyond me.

Do they think they can 'cure' him? - They can't.
Do they think they become racist if they don't reply? - They don't.
Do they think others needs help spotting a racist comment? - We don't.

I'm pretty sure a high percentage of NSC wouldn't spend longer than 1 minute in a pub with BL if, IF, his opinions here are just a watered down, Mod acceptable, version of the real thing.

Yet there are posters who have had a 4+ year 'relationship' with him here, just to get to this point in time now - ie nowhere.

I agree, the Government SHOULD force social media to not allow anonymity, I’m not sure that is going to be possible, just look at platforms such as WhatsApp..
As for the Home Secretary, I am certainly not defending, nor would I abuse her by calling her “Uncle Tom” “choc ice” or “coconut “That is disgusting also.
One thing is for sure, the whole BLM,kneeling thing has set race relations back decades. The taking of the knee is a gesture and it is political. Keep politics out of the beautiful game.
