As you know, post match Palace a one way system is in place. This would mean my mate, who walks slowly with the aid of a stick, would have to walk from the SW corner Lower West stand, all the way round the ground to get to the coaches.
Pre match, pink jacketed staff looked out for disabled people and instruted them to seek them out post match. Post match these stewards then escorted them through a police pathway past the Palace fans to the coach park.

Fully agree, I wasn't looking forward to that walk around the stadium as I'd already done quite enough getting to the ground. I use a walking stick and was very glad of the help. I kept an eye out for a more senior gentleman in a similar situation and we were accompanied by wheelchair users. There were no issues at all.
I'm not quite sure why the Palace fans were allowed onto the 'outside' concourse though. They were well behaved enough (I heard there were issues not long after though) but the police seemed to have everything under control for the disabled to get away first
