If you hate the fans so much, why do you bother following the team?

Kindly just do one.

What is your obsession with quoting me? I am entitled to my opinion like everyone else, because you do not agree, does not give you the right to tell me to 'do one'. I don't pick on people in particular, I don't come on here and spout a tirade of abuse, I don't make knee-jerk outrageous posts, I actually think my posts are calmly and coherently put together, making a valid point. My view on some of the fans (not all but a lot) has nothing to do with my following of the team, I support Brighton and will continue to do so, if people choose to be flippant, fickle and unsupportive that's up to them, but I won't be. I've never said I hate the fans but I will defend comments such as 'the players don't care' and 'the players don't deserve us.' Like I said before, our fans can be great, getting behind the team, balloons, chanting etc, I used to think we were some of the best around, but when things aren't going quite so well it can turn with many of them very quickly.

I don't want this to turn into a slanging match as I find that immature and embarrassing, I just wanted to make this point as I find your constant picking on me tiresome.

Thought the atmosphere was okay yesterday - certainly not the best I can remember (was better at Millwall). We had a lot of fans there, and it was a massive game, so inevitably we made a fair amount of noise. Having said that, the main singers seemed to be towards the left end of the stand (with the balloons), it was quite a struggle to get a huge noise coming from the right side I was in. Hate to say it, as it probably is a bit twattish, but it did seem like there were a lot of people there who rarely go to away games, especially judging their bemused or disgusted look when I tried to sell them a fanzine?!?!?!?!

Still, Brighton still know how to make some noise, let's hope it's just as good at Walsall.

It was good apart from what was dubbed the "prawn sandwich brigade" in the middle of the stand at the front. All sat down after 2 minutes and were quiet after about 20 minutes.

Agree. Could only have been the back 4 rows making any kind of atmosphere after kick off (On the left side anyway).

That's the problem about having the whole stand, everyone wants to be at the back meaning we're all spread out rather than in a tight group.

Was expecting better, won't be too disappointed if we don't go there next season.

Your constant slagging off of the fans is tiresome, but it does not stop you from doing it.

Still you are probably the sort of person that would have slagged off the fans for protesting against Archer and Belloti in the 90's.

The atmosphere created by Albion fans at away matches all depends on the percentage of bobble hats in the crowd. Normally ends up with 2 singing groups on the left and right but we would do a lot better if the singing groups merged together as one entity.

Shame that despite all the positivity from the fans, the players couldn't produce the goods on the pitch.

It was a bit quiet down the far left end too, but the stewards wouldn't let us into the middle section as it was full (this was at 2.30) such a shame they got rid of the terrace at the front. There were dozens of little kids where I was with their colouring books and toys... Far too hong for Footy IMO.

Atmosphere was pretty poor in the very top corner at the end we scored at.
I was, for some stupid reason, starting the singing, which I think summed things up.

Unfortunately that was the end I was at with my seagull. It wasn't as good as I was expecting, but I think the match circumstances played a part, we weren't playing brilliantly afterall. It does make a difference. I still think the support was unbelievably good though, especially compared to the Withdean!

Any noise from the fans is noticeable when you make comparisons to Withdean.

Although the atmosphere was good yesterday - it didn't seem to be
as loud as it should somehow.

I think you have to take into account 1) that because we were split over two halves of a stand - it was difficult to get everyone singing the same song at the same time 2) leads to competing/overlapping chants which drown each other out 'if you see what I mean'. And when one half cottoned on to the other side...the first side had stopped....

I had some plum in the row behind me, in his 20s with his father in tow and holding one of those immature seagull inflatables..... I hope that wasn't you young man? :nono:

PS I agree with other posters, I thought the atmosphere yesterday was ok at best and much better last season (and countless other seasons when we stood behind the goal)

 Guilty as charged. Ah my Seagull, what a day we had, trapsing through pubs and McDonalds, and Burger King! Got to laugh.
My father?! I'm just under 6 foot tall, he's 5'5 at best. I'm shocked you saw a likeness!

I agree, a lot of the time we don't keep chants going long enough for them to catch on with the whole stand.

I did promise on another thread to let you guys know how it sounded and say again all I heard on the radio were albion /seagull chants apart from the cheering of O fans at their second goal.

I'm sure it sounded pretty good to anyone outside the Stands. Down on the pitch there is no way that the players were other than 100% aware of a very large, noisy and supportive following.

Do we have any acoustics specialists on NSC? Why is that noise doesn't seem to travel well sideways along a stand? Also, why is it that when you are in the middle of a chanting group the noise can on the one hand sometimes sound louder to you than it is being heard elsewhere (e.g. small band of away fans taunting home fans who are none the wiser as they can't really hear the chant...) but on the other hand I suspect that often your own noise doesn't sound as loud to you as it is heard elsewhere (e.g. at Orient our support/noise would have been relatively loud to anyone in one of the other 3 stands but to us it seemed a bit quiet...)

To put it another way - when the Orient bobblers managed a couple of fairly lame efforts it sounded good enough to me - the full cry of our 2,000 travelling fans surely must have been a lot better?

Anyone sit in the home section and can comment?
