Well done, Crystal Palace! Been a credit to the Championship this season

I say a begrudged congratulations. What the hell, they did what we would have loved to have done. So what if they scraped in, the fact is, they scraped in. One might argue that we have scraped our way past a fair few teams and gotten a fair few results we didn't deserve - you can remember them.

I didn't enjoy seeing them go up - they're our rivals after all - but I am sane enough to get a grip and realise that there are far more important things to think about. I'm more interested in our results; our new manager; how our club is run; how the management and the fans are working together at our club; how we can extend a welcome to all other football fans and show the way a club can be run for the benefit of all.

Good luck Palace, we'll be playing you again in a season or two - I hope in the PL, but I don't really mind too much if it is the Championship.

It works both ways though, we outplayed most teams at home yet we still dropped several points.

I could be wrong wanderbus, but I think regarding our losses he meant that yours were double what we posted for 2011/12, not that ours were £10 million and yours were £20 million. In fact, ours were only £2.5 million with yours being well over triple that. Not a gripe at my end as Bloom seemingly knows what he is doing.

We wanted to sell Zaha in the summer to them but The FA dismissed that idea in a legal sense for whatever reason. Hindsight is a wonderful thing though, if we'd lost in the playoffs, Wilf could potentially be going for less than the original transfer fee had he wanted out so it's all immaterial now, certainly wish he wasn't leaving though!

Why were the F.A. telling Palace when they can or can't sell their players?

God knows, I have forgotten where I saw it but we tried to enable a deal where we sold him in the summer but they were having none of it. Don't shoot the messenger, but that's what I saw.

If thats right no one can blame palace for doing it. The F.A. were taking the piss

Hither and Thither
The trouble with a lot of Brighton fans is that they spent most of the season hating Palace and not supporting Brighton.
It seems your eyes were watching everything that happened up the A23 and ignored the problems on the door step.

And you are on an Albion board how often ?

Have a little bit of self-awareness.

I have ALWAYS said ever since the play offs started it should be the top two go up and 3rd and 4th play off at Wembley.
Why, for example should a team that ends up 6th with 20pts less than third say go up ??
Never ever agreed with it.

My reading of your post is that you feel that the best teams over a 46 game season should always go up. So why have you put that the 3rd and 4th should play each other at Wembley, surely it should be just the 3rd place team that goes up in your theory? How convinent you finished 4th and you think this is would be acceptable :stupid:

Credit to the Championship " my fat arse" !!!
Why have they been a credit to the Championship ? In what way ?
What a totally insane statement to make !!!
They were shite for well over half of it, obviously upset Freedman so he left , why else would you leave a team who were 2/3rd at the time.
Get in one of the biggest nobs in football as a manager who almost helped them out of the top six, get crowds of 10-14k most of the season, rely on Groupon to sell cheap tickets ( and couldn't even do that right), sell their best player/s ,
and end up 4 pts below us in the league.

Yeah a real credit to the Championship !!!!!! WTF ???? :ffsparr:

Again talking BS.

A bit more backbone from some Brighton fans wouldn't go amiss in times like this. It's not being able to face the music of what yesterday's result tells us that ultimately puts Albion fans in a downward spiral. Instead of this, why not see what clues the match offered about how to win promotion to the top flight?

This business of missing out on promotion to the top flight this season - we'll survive it. How do I know? Because we've survived it every time it's happened over the past thirty years. Crystal Palace being above us in the league - we'll survive it. How do I know? Because we've survived it every time it's happened over the past thirty years.

4th place in the Championship is a great finish. Over 90% of clubs in the Football League would have preferred to have finished where we have and losing a Play-Off Semi-Final, to where they actually finished. When people talk of grieving, it completely dishonours what a great season we have just had. We're not that far off being an automatic promotion side, never mind one that gets there via the Play-Offs.

I honestly think that if you can keep the majority of your squad, you'll be contenders for automatic.

Great to see some real angry Weed fans, foaming at the mouth at our promotion to the top flight. Good also to see a few "well done's" albeit through gritted teeth. Yep we'll probably come back down next May, but we'll give it a good go to stay up. In the meantime we'll enjoy our trips to Old Trafford, Anfield etc while I am sure you will take a massive away following to Turf Moor, Ewood Park etc. Enjoy.

Hmm let me think what would I prefer, to be paying around £30 to watch my team at Turf Moor, Ewood Park with a chance they could come away with some points. Or paying around £50 to watch my team at Anfield, Old Trafford just hoping we won't get hammered today, tough one that.

Actually, I didn't want us to go up this season, as I felt it was a season too early. I wanted another season of team building, so that if we managed to go up, we were in a position with further strengthening, be in with a chance to stay there. I really cannot see you managing that to be honest.

If we hadn't had all these problems with Poyet, I would have been very happy with the progress and our season. Don't forget when Bloom took over he had a 5 year plan to get to the premiership and we still have two years to go.
