I've said from the start of the season. Crawley will win the Blue-Square, but I thought it wouldn't of been this close with AFC Wimbledon and Luton fighting it with them. Could be very interesting when Crawley play AFC Wimbledon this month.......

How do you mean close? They are on the same points as AFC but have 5 games in hand and a goal difference of 11 better

Shall we congratulate Palace, Southampton and Pompey for any recent successes while we're at it?
#

Why would we do that?

Would you also slag off Southwick, Worthing & Whitehawk if they had any success. I assume so.

And another thing, everybody is saying that if you lived in Lancashire would you support ManUre, Man City, Liverpool & Everton etc.? Surely thats the same as saying if you lived in England would you support Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal & Man City in Europe. By the rationale of the Lancashire example the answer would be "not a chance" but as we know, for the majority this isn't the case as most of us support English teams in Europe because that is where we are from.

Crawley are NOT at the same level as those teams. Not even close. They're not a little kid we can pat on the head any more.

No I wouldn't, and I'm not "slagging off" their success. I'm confused why some Brighton fans are such huge fans of another team that we have NO affinity with.

Do you think on Crawley messageboards they have posts celebrating Brighton's lead at the top of League One? Or discuss going to Brighton games AHEAD of going to their own teams games?

Crawley are, at present a non league team. We don't compete against them and if we go up this season probably wont for a good few years. I know Crawley is a horrible place populated by quite a lot of low lifes but I wish their football team the very best all the time that they are not in direct competition with us.

Did you wish Pompey all the best while they were 2 leagues above us?

The club is well run, profitable & as a result prosperous.

Do you have evidence of this? They won't get a tie with Man Utd every season. Are they really breaking even with small crowds?

Asked about their spending, on transfer fees and players' wages said to be around £100,000 a year for some, Carter replied: "How many clubs actually spend what they make in income? Very few. It's a problem in football; we're only doing what other clubs are doing."

Chez, I take great offense to that, you have probably never ever visited Crawley so have no f***ing idea what its like, yer we have a large population of asian friends, but nowhere as many f***ing foreginers as what you get in Brighton, go buy a paper from your local newsagent and tell me what f***ing language he speaks. Crawley also has a trouble spot in Broadfield, granted full of f***ing plums, but are they worse than the clowns and frigging toss pots that live in Whitehawk or Mouslecomb? No they are not, every area has the plums, one murder in Broadfield in the last 5 years, what, one a month in Brighton???????? just today a copper is threathened with a gun...where? Brighton, you might want to look closer to home to find the f***ing low life.

Was just thinking that it would be a joke if the team from a small town like Crawley made it to the league when proper football towns (with some football tradition) like York, Mansfield, Luton, Halifax, Wrexham, have teams wallowing in the conference.

I dislike Crawley intensely, especially the way that they are financed with funny money, the town is horrible and the manager is a nasty piece of work but really hate it when clubs are referred to as proper football towns. In my opinion Brighton isn't much of a football town but we'll get their on merit and honest graft which is the proper way to do it.

For what it's worth, I'd like to see ALL of those towns you've mentioned beat Crawley. Not though, because they're 'proper football towns' but the way in which the club is run.

I posted a thread on Crawley's fanzine asking them what they thought about us yesterday. Frankly have been surprised at how much the Crawley fans have no malice to us & wish us well.

Indeed there is a bit of a love in going on & I would like to reciprocate.
Crawley Town - I have an unnatural feeling of warmth & love to you!
I really want you to be successful & to climb the leagues.
We are all Sussex together!
