You absolute Din it was the criminals that provided the boats and in some cases forced them into the boats ? The RNLI are doing their job but in the same breath aiding the criminals at the same time, have another cap on me

Aiding and abetting is a criminal offence.
The RNLI are not committing a criminal offence.

I have a relative that was deployed on operations in Afghanistan, and although they don't tend to talk about it, I know from previous conversations at the time that they would welcome this

The RNLI are bound by Maritime law to facilitate the rescue of those in peril on the sea.
Aiding and abetting- ILLEGAL
Facilitating rescue -LEGAL
They are not interchangeable. You may as well say swap knitting for murder and that’s illegal.

They are doing the right thing, of course, they are also facilitating the sordid business of people trafficking. It's despicable to put the RNLI in the middle of this whole sorry business.

I disagree. The traffickers would operate whether the RNLI existed or not. Therefore, by definition they are not facilitating them.
