That would be incorrect. A poster, I forget who, on this thread who works in that sector said most get declined and sent home. They just stay detained for ages while unscrupulous solicitors follow up endless, doomed appeals.

I think ultimately its about 46% of cases get granted permanent leave to remain, about 15,000 a year. Roughly. Cases drag on so it's tricky to figure out. 4 out of 5 displaced people remain in developing countries though, so we have little to fear. They won't be turning your pie n mash shop into a mosque anytime soon.

developing countries...?? the far east and eastern europe....?? the rest of the world is going backwards....:laugh:

yes , the dodgy lawyers are a problem and a lot of them have made fortunes out of attempting to help the likes of hamza etc. their efforts have been counterproductive however , turning many liberal thinking Brits against offering refuge to a group of people who are portrayed as largely malcontented and ungrateful.

pie n mash ...... give me a curry , laksa or kebab any day....

Still buying into the lazy tabloid stereotypes? Why can't the 6th richest economy look after the needs of everyone? The country is broke they say, we can't afford it, there's no magic money tree, from the same people who say 200bn is a price worth paying for blue passports

2 billion for new passports , how much for trident ....?? our govt is attempting to spend billions on a fleet of nuclear subs , built in France with Chinese os that will be obsolete by the time we take ownership in 30 yrs....:lolol: meanwhile according to our "boutique politicians" 10 % of children in this country live below the poverty line ...???

how much of that 2 billion will go into the pockets of govt cronies...?

why can't the 6th richest country in the world give school kids one free meal a day .......Gareth Bale 150 k a week for **** sake , the world is a ****ed up place at the moment.

The Church Homeless Trust does just that. With specialised grants and help for veterans. Shameless use of homeless veterans for their own agenda. Pretty disgusting really.

Is that the same leave.EU that moved to the EU ? How terrible for them

One 26-year-old Sudanese man explains: 'I was living rough in Calais until before Christmas when I came to the UK by boat. When I was given this hotel to stay in I was relieved.

'They serve us too much rice and pasta to eat. It is nearly every meal apart from breakfast. That is the biggest complaint we have.'

A 34-year-old Eritrean woman walking from the hotel at 9am on Friday to buy extra groceries from nearby shops said: 'I had been in Europe for seven years trying to find a way to get to the UK.'

She arrived last September and is grateful for the hospitality offered by the country.

In a hoodie and mask, she said: 'Yes, the food at the hotel is so-so,' she gestures. 'But Britain has welcomed us.'

Looks like the food being served is the only issue for the refugees staying at the Crowne Plaza Hotel , hopefully this will be improved soon though and they enjoy their stay before permanent homes can be found for them .

Poor mites, hopefully they recover from their time in the war ravaged EU.
