The event will gather together the crème de la crème of the world’s firework elite and promises a mouth-watering series of shows with jaw-dropping entertainment for all the family - a great opportunity for visitors to take an extended weekend break.

Saturday 11th September - Russia
Saturday 25th September - Ireland
Saturday 9th October - Germany
Saturday 23rd October - Showcase Display by Titanium Fireworks and winner announcement

Sure to be noisy , let's hope that the refugees can be moved into suitable housing before the event starts otherwise they might have trouble sleeping at night .

On the other hand if fireworks are their passion they are in for a treat .

Perhaps the council should gather them up and move them out of town like the Chinese before the Olympics, we wouldn’t want the visitors to see them, would we.

Your thinly veiled racism dressed up as compassion is neither amusing nor is it fooling anyone. Possibly the worst “reason” I’ve seen to not welcome refugees “the fireworks may disturb them”.
Give your head a wobble.

Twas actually the Guardian highlighting concern for vulnerable refugees being housed in an unsuitable hotel with a pending fireworks competition likely to cause disruption

I can assure you that my head is in no need of wobbling :)

The fireworks are the least of their worries.

So, key requirements are a) don’t send your daughters out for fast food and b) avoid the kebabs.

Indeed the Guardian does
"the town is also hosting the World Fireworks Championships near the hotel, likely to cause disruption and noise to the hotel’s vulnerable residents".

Thoughts and prayers (praying doesnt do anything) in general though for anyone housed in a Britannia hotel.
I guess it beats being an illegal immigrant living in a woods in France.
The Brittania Norbreck Castle Blackpool would definitely be a downgrade though............they are lucky that hotel wasnt chosen.
