Still got great links with a Wrexham fans' group and do a gig every couple of years for them in their local, Saith Seren. Really great bunch and still hugely appreciative of the support we gave them. I was gobsmacked by this but it seems to be working out for them and most are pleased (although a hardcore few would prefer to stay fan owned whatever that implied for results)

If I recall correctly, the graphic was accurate, but the accompanying narration a bit muddled.

I binged through the four available episodes a few nights back, thoroughly enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to more.

I think McElhenney really gets it, possibly because of his Philly roots, which was also explained in the first episode from what I recall, and Reynolds brings most of the laughs. But the focus on the machinations of the club itself and the fans is handled really well, and encapsulates how clubs like Wrexham, and the Albion, are heart of their local community and an essential part of life for many.

Agree, got into it now.

I've only just caught up with this in the last couple of weeks. Brilliant series, really looking forward to E16 today.

Fair play to McElhenney for doing it and to Reynolds for getting completely sucked in. I really like how you see their journey develop from being a bit green about the whole thing to really understanding what following a team is all about.

They've pitched the tone perfectly. My missus also loves it, IMHO because they've had explain everything to the American audience so it's easy for her to understand, without being a big footy fan. On the flip side there's enough in there for the likes of us who have lived through a bit of turmoil in the lower leagues (is it bad to say that I miss it a little bit?)

I watched the first of this series last night and loved it. Mrs GCCM also enjoyed it. I am a big fan of McElhenney, I think that ASIP is a hilarious show. But his attitude to sports and his team along with understanding of community are outstanding.

If anyone else has subtitles on (sleeping children so needed sometimes), they're very funny. Constant errors and clearly an American doing them who has no knowledge of UK football terminology.

Just finished it yesterday. A superb series, very enjoyable indeed. A very warm and heartfelt series.

Haven't finished the series yet, I have a few more episodes on my DVR to go, but I really appreciate their "warts and all" approach. They've not been afraid to include harsh criticism from the fans, for example. Like in the episode where R&R first visit Wrexham and they are in the pub and one person is telling them that they've got all the wrong people. Or the episode all about hooligans. You're not going to see that in the PR-heavy All or Nothing series. Or Rob's angst that he got all his friends together to watch a game and it turned out to be a dreary bore score draw. Or where they talk about the impact of social media abuse on their backup keeper. Or the one young lad who's partner lost a baby...

Compelling stuff.

It's a fantastic series - well shot and produced. Raw and real observations with superb humorous touches throughout.

For some reason it had slipped off my radar after episode 6, so this thread reminded me to revisit it. What a delight to have so many episodes too binge through.

I gave up after about 8 episodes. The two guys do make me laugh, but parts of it involving them feel a little too contrived or scripted, like Rob’s ‘tense’ phone calls from LA to Wrexham etc, but then again there is really no such thing as ‘reality TV’ because no one is fully themselves with a camera on them.

They grate a little with their panto antics sometimes. And all football documentaries seem to completely fluff the emotion of a goal... and use the wrong sound for the ref's whistle. But other than that it's very entertaining!

Anyone have a slightly not legal streaming link for this? Could send it to me in PM in that case.

Edit: Nvm, found one

If you watched Welcome to Wrexham, this video from Tifo IRL gives some essential background:

They speak to Humphrey Ker, Executive Director of Wrexham and the one that got Rob into football. You'll recognize him from the show.

Really enjoyed this series.

Anyone know when the next will be released? Do they wait until the end of the season

I have a horrible feeling if they do an episode of the Torquay game I will feature in it prominently.
