This thread has made me want to join your forum; I must say I was a bit surprised to read on the forum that many consider Brighton the favorite or at least Roma an "easy" opponent, considering that in the last 6 years we have won an European cup and played in a Europa League final, a Champions League semifinal, and a Europa League semifinal... of course, the team has changed a lot since the feat against Barcelona (and not in better), but now we consider ourselves a fairly established European presence. Personally, I admire Brighton's style of play and consider De Zerbi an excellent coach; it would have been nice to see him coaching Roma. Maybe someday. I sincerely think that the passage to the next round is 55/45 in our favor, but it will definitely be a spectacular double challenge.

I find it strange to, typically this is some Brightons fans mentality, Roma yeah shouldn’t be an issue Everton at home who haven’t won in 8 games can’t see us winning that one

I am not sure "many" said that... we do have the odd over confident contributions on here...... I think it is probably accurate to say 55/45 in Romas favour, simply from the historical perspective of European experience etc.... but of course the Albion has a more recent history of surprising the Prem big six teams with big histories.... having beaten all of them over the last few seasons, home and away in most cases.

I think it will be a match that will go to extra time and possibly even penalties....

Hanover area - you'll be accosted by Yoga teachers and part time mums trying to force you Into a downward dog.

Lewes Road Area - you'll be bored to death by social sciences students with dreadlocks going on about the environment

North Laine - you'll get robbed blind by coffee shops charging you 7 pounds for a poorly made coffee and dry croissant

Kemptown - well, if you're a good looking Italian fella, just...Good luck, basically.

Newhaven - the locals will attack you, knowing you're not from round there because you don't have gills

Portslade and Fishersgate - prepare yourself to be accosted by Reebok Classic wearing Taxi drivers who'll bore you to death about taking back.control and vaccination conspiracies

Hove - you'll be surrounded by Tarquin and Tabitha who'll beat you to death with tales of how much they could afford having sold their flat in London and how, like, it's so refreshing to be by the sea.

Be careful, it's a jungle out there.

Non penso che la maggioranza credano che la Roma sarà facile come opposizione, però considerando la qualità di calcio che giochiamo, è possibile che vinceremo - 50/50. Non siete così forti come Milan, Sporting, Leverkusen o Liverpool, neanche noi. E, come è il nostro debutto in una competizione europea, siamo entusiasti di continuare contro avversari con grandi storie europee - AEK, Ajax, Marseille e adesso Roma. Un po' più interessante che Servette, TSC e Qarabag!

If you come to Brighton for the match you'll have a great time. Fun city with a good nightlife and alternative culture. Close to London, and easily accessible from Gatwick. Just that it's f***ing miserable when the rain and the cold come sweeping in off the sea in stormy weather.

There won't be violence from our fans, frankly we're one of the softest fanbases in England. So hopefully the Roma ultras wont come just to start something.
