Yea I expect him to play 0 minutes this season but he is unfortunately back and costing a lot of money and likely soon to be lurking around the training facilities.

They've probably changed the combination on the gates ...................

He could DJ a few high impact aerobic warm ups for the boys, so at least we would be getting something for the wages

Yet some on here think we don't need to sign another striker. If we don't get our money out and sign a decent striker we'll be scrapping around the bottom 3 again. We've tried and failed to sign strikers on the cheap since we arrived in the PL, with another season of TV rights and £50m from the White deal there should be no excuses

???:facepalm::wrong:

We need a quality striker for sure (as we've been saying for the last 4 or 5 summers), but it is not our money, it is Uncle Tony's.

I think you'll find that many of us feel it is dull to keep saying the same thing. Say it a couple of times. Club does or doesn't sign a striker. Dullards drone on and on, eventually pointing the finger at The Club (#clueless). Then every time a striker gets injured, or we don't score, out comes the same old mantra. This has been going on for years. If you think our club is run by morons, look into elsewhere. I gather there is a top outfit up the road, the Sellhurst Park outfit, as talkshite probably call them.

You have a right to say it, certainly, and Croydon is perpetually in waiting for you if you finally snap but, FFS I also have a right to say it is dull and irritating to point fingers at others who will obviously disagree as your opening gambit.

Personally I would like to see another striker brought in, but I'm not that fussed to be honest. Yet some on here . . . :bla::bla::bla:

Surely there's a record label willing to sign him off us?

Hopefully we’re getting him fit so we can ship him out.

Well that's put that 'great minds' theory to bed :dunce:

The only saving grace is we should have enough about us now not to be dicking about the bottom 4 again - hopefully lower mid table.

But given how much potential there is it's bloody disappointing if we start the season with Maupay and Connolly up front, even if they do start ok

Not ideal. A crocked Welbeck, a desperate Andone, two hotheads and a DJ.

It is what it is really. Welbeck is never going to play anywhere near 38 games in a season, if you can get 20-25 games from him it is good and all that can be expected.

There's Maupay, Connolly, Welbeck, Zeqiri, Andone, Tau, Locadia in the squad as well as Trossard who has played quite a few games as striker. While some of these can play in multiple positions, you cant just keep adding more and more players because it ****s up dressing room atmosphere as well as training sessions.

At least two of those are patently not up to it and need shipping out, two need to go on loan, and one is injured. So we’re back to relying on Maupay again, and hoping that a serious knee injury has suddenly turned Andone in to a player Potter wants.

Welbeck missing the start is not our problem, relying on Maupay and a cast of understudies is.

You replace with better players and improve, or you stay still and struggle scoring goals again
