Public school bluffers, need not apply

But what will the ruling classes do if they cannot rule us?

Won't someone think of the toffs.

Sounds like a good idea to me :)

I’m not a Cummings fan but having met and worked with a few of the types he described - I can see where he is coming from. Biggest problem I saw was the attitude of not seeing a job through but having to move to a new job every two years to keep ‘ones’ career on the move.

Careful, don’t let the lefties read that. They’ll be slagging you off as a right-wing nutter,

My ex wife worked for ESCC for about 6 months many years ago. On her first day, she was told to SLOW DOWN as the paperwork she was working through had to last her the whole week, Also, the people she worked with In the office used to go to the pub every day for about 2 hours, come back half cut and spend the afternoon just chatting (not work related). And, they would plan when to take their ‘sick days’.

So yes, IMO, the public sector does need shaking up. I’m not saying that those in front-line services don’t work hard, but there’s a lot of room for improvement in many of the admin sections. However, too many are closed to any questions about improving the efficiency of the public sector as there will be cries about ‘privatisation’.

Nail, head; an excellent example of the difference between public and private sector attitude to work....you won’t catch a city worker going back to the office.

I've seen all of that in the private sector.

But failed the civil service entrance exams. Not that hes bitter....
Exams mean nothing, action and clarity means everything.
Cummings has achieved more than most.
I know so many people who actually believe a degree means they are smart, it really isn't a true measure.

Cummings and Mouldy Boots.
Both total w@nkers.

Well look at that, chopper still booing, chin up fella, just roll up your sleeves and get on with life.

In reality one hates the other.

But we both love you.

Not my point. If you think his views of the civil service are not coloured by his rejection by the civil service, despite him having the advantages given to him by his private and oxbridge, then I think you are incorrect. Which is not to say there are not problems with the way Whitehall functions, just that you should take into account individuals motivations.

He certainly wouldn't have lowered himself to a 50p wash inside and out of a Ford Anglia!

Happy New year to you and Mrs Boots and the little boots:D

Happy New year to you and Mrs Gullsworth.

It's a shame you couldn't make the annual golf dinner, just 2 days after the election result.

We really didn't talk politics at all, there was no linking of that and you going sick hours before it.:clap:

Rejection is a good thing, I once had a girl reject me, I bounced back and done her sister.

I don't get the mentality of the jelousy about people who had a private education. I may well be in the minority on here about that, but it just appears a funny way to judge people.

The main thing like you say is that Whitehall doesn't function well enough, and Cumming is going to try and put that right.

Exams mean **** all and you judge success on having “done” someone’s sister. Interesting.

It's these unelected policy makers like Cummings that running the country I say enough let's take back control

Our form of Democracy is broken beyond repair I know our elected representatives can be elected by such small majorities and most only represent a part of their constituents interests and that's where I would like to see change I have no idea if Cummings is correct in saying the civil service is in need of a total reorganisation but as they say Turkeys don't vote for Christmas

The one in no.10 is enough I assume?

Democracy put him there, or is everyone an idiot who voted for him?

Why can't some people in this country accept, the best man won???

I seriously don't get the mentality behind their kind of sulking.

I'm still waiting for some guidance and leadership from our " best man " as the Middle East braces itself for destruction, chugging champers and gorging in Mustique is going to have to end soon … I hope ?

If you put 3 idiots in a room with an intelligent person, the intelligent person doesn't become less intelligent.
