Worthing
The Tomorrow People was odd and complete crap but The Prisoner for older folk was very strange.

I seem to remember David Jason was in it as well. Didn't they do "Superbicyclerepairman".

Edit - no sorry, that really was Monty python - I was thinking of Captain fantastc, seen here with the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah band.

DO NOT ADJUST YOUR SET - Captain Fantastic - YouTube

Wacky pre Python - legend has it that when they rescheduled it to an earlier time they were inundated by complaints from adults who couldn't get home early enough to watch it - pre Video/DVD/SkyPlus by a long, long way. Anyone wanting a fix can now buy it on DVD (the programmes that were kept) for not very much.

In my own strange world
I remember these random short cartoons from Czechoslovakia that used to pop up on ITV afternoons from time to time, terrifying the living daylights out of me.(early to mid 70's)

The Singing Ringing Tree is one that I can't quite believe really happened. If it wasn't for Youtube I'd also think Tiwzzle and Torchy were memories of some kind of freakish nightmares.

Yeah, Torchy and Twizzle were early Gerry Anderson efforts, I remember them fondly. The Singing Ringing Tree was memorable to all who saw it I think, Tales From Europe was extra creepy because you could here the original language under the English narration, it sort of made it more exotic.

Can't believe we've got this far without a mention of 'The Singing Ringing Tree'

(Apologies if I missed it)

Good call as that was seriously creepy. I could also add Eucalypta the wicked witch from the puppet show drama Paulus The Woodgnome
