Reminds me of a new teacher taking the register at our school one morning...

"Davies?" "Here."
"Harrison?" "Here."
"Jones?" "Here."
"Plunkett?" "Here."

Then the teacher stopped and said. "Which one of you's Plunkett?" The little kid in question stuck his hand up sheepishly, and the teacher just looked at him, shook his head and said: "Hard luck son. Hard luck."

f***, that reminds me, I went to school with someone who's middle names were the signatories of the proclamation of indepdence. Not going to give his first name or surname in case he googles himself, but his middle names were, in order:

"Plunkett Pearse MacDiarmada MacDonagh Clark Connolly Ceant"

Used to be called Train Station Boy by a particulary evil teacher - theres train stations named after all of them :lolol: :lolol:

I interviewed a Mr McCartney last year whose parents in the late sixties chose to call him Paul...

I worked with an American girl, who had a class mate called...

LONDON BRIDGE

My dad knew an Albert Hall.

I friend of mine at schools dad was called "John Thomas."

An unfortunate surname I thought was Burchett, always used to raise a laugh as the register was read out.

I love Americans.. apparently the name "Chlamydia" is popular there.

I used to work with someone who was married to Randy Bender (I have a function key for this now. Next to it, there's another key for "What kind of man BULLIES dwarves?")

Has anyone read freakenomics? Great book. The last section discusses just this issue. I goes into a case study of a man who named his two boys "Winner" and "Loser". You couldn't make it up...

Was that Michael Winner?? if so I reckon that having eaten food full of waiters/chefs jizz for years he must be a loser!

This gets more and more confusing, was the male Bender also Randy, or was that Mrs. Bender?

I always laugh at the name "Clinton Carlisle" when i see it on my companies intranet. Again, Mr. Carlisle is an American gentleman.

It also mentions parents who called their child Shithead.

As Bertie Wooster remarked once "There's some grim work at the font".

MRS Bender was called RANDY. Her husband wasn't. I don't know whether they have children, or what they've called them. I'm hoping that there's one called "Screaming".
