Don't get why people are backing Rangers at 7's on . Wouldn't touch anything at that price let alone Rangers!

I've done
QOS
Stenhousemuir
Chelsea
Tottenham
Saafend
Arsenal

£10 returns £165.02

Southend cost me £28 from a £1 stake. Last 5 accies only 1 team has let me down. Oh well!

I don't understand your staking plan for that bet, surely any 4 from 7 is 35 bets.

It is - His total stake is £5 across 35 bets. Smaller wins but more likely. Bummer if all 7 come in though!

I normally get let down by 1 or 2 teams (don't we all!) so i might try this and add a straight accy too

I don't understand it either, or rather I can't understand how the stake is so small for the returns gained.

The returns are small in comparison to placing a single £5 stake on a 7 match accy. you still have to get 4 out of the 7 and if you pick events with low odds (under evens) you won't win much at all.

Presumably, it was the second of these accies, with five winners, that saved the day. Would the first accy, with 4 winners, not have made a small loss? Not being nosey, just trying to understand the bets.

Thanks. I think I have now grasped the principles of these bets. Am I right in thinking that with a 7 game accy you really need to have 5 winners to win anything of significance?

It depends on the odds!

In a straight 7 event accy you need all 7 to come in - It depends on the odds of all the events that you bet on (7 wins x bugger all is still bugger all!)

If say you did a 5 or even 6 out of 7 as SP does and 5 or 6 came in it still depends on the odds of the events that came in.

If Tottenham win today, Southend would have cost me for £165.02.

Ah well.

All 7 coming in would give me the return I specified in my OP. 170 or so? However if I went for 7x fold over 7 teams and they all came in I'd probably be looking at around 1000-1700 rather than 170.

Nearly correct, the first accy won me 7.77 from a 5 pound bet and the second (with Cardiff's late win) brought me up to 45 pounds. So after initially betting 10 pounds, I walk out with 45 = 35 profit. Again, it's obviously not a great deal of cash, I prefer lower risk and lower return!

I don't want to appear thick, but I still don't understand your staking plan.Any chance you could explain it with figures.
I like the sound of it, as like you I prefer the lower risk steady return of football betting.

No worries, it's really not complicated.
When you 'open all multiples' on a site, you have the following options (based on picking 7 teams):

4 Fold: (4 teams out of the 7 have to win) - 35 individual bets are made = High chance of winning but low return
5 Fold: (5 teams out of the 7 have to win) - 21 individual bets are made = Fair chance of winning with fairly good return
6 Fold: (6 teams out of the 7 have to win) - 7 individual bets are made = Low chance of winning with high return
7 Fold: (7 teams out of the 7 have to win) - 1 individual bets are made = Very low chance of winning with very high return.

Obviously the return completely depends on the odds. I very rarely add certain favourites to my accy's as they add virtually no value to it.
The best way to get a good return is to pick 7 teams to win, 5 fair favourites and 2 clear underdogs.

Like I mentioned before, I post my bets on here each week, it would be good to see what everyone else is doing and help each other out etc.

Thanks for that,I have had a reasonable season so far but think I can be a bit guilty of backing too many short priced ones.
I might try backing 4 teams at no shorter than 4/5 and 3 teams at more generous odds.
May try it on over and under 2.5 goals as well.

Given that you are staking 5 pounds that gives you 35 x 15p fourfolds. The first bet has one winning line which pays £3 a loss of £2, NOT a £7.77 return, why are you confusing people with false info?

Just repeating what my bet slip shows online buddy. I have no idea of the exact maths and variants behind it. I just place my bets and reveal my winnings on here.
£7.77 isn't really anything to boast about is it.
