Shame that the Owls and the Barnsley games weren't switched. Wednesday would have sold their full allocation on a Saturday and I doubt it would have been possible for Barnsley to bring much less.

Should still be a great atmosphere tomorrow though!

If they have, that's impressive.

There is no way we would take 2,700 to Wednesday on a SATURDAY in September, let alone a Friday night.

It makes all the posturing on here look a bit ridiculous.
What posturing?

Quite. Wednesday's fans make Palace fans look loyal and unplastic. 16k rattling around in their rusty shed last season a few times, average pulled up by two local derbies (29k, 36k) and a promotion game (38k) purely because they had the room to accommodate them.

Whereas last season our gates didn't go below 18,500 or above 21,500.

Not if you've seen their board it doesn't.

Very much this.

They need to be bought down to earth. Lets hope our 'tin pot' club is the one to do it.

It still amazes me how people take things on forums so seriously when they are obviously a wind up.

We are wednesday. Relatively big club. Plenty of history. Plenty of potential
You are Brighton. Relatively big club. Perhaps not quite as big a history. But this is even debatable . Equally as much potential.

lets be done with it - to misquote the norwich chairman

& regarding recent post about attendance - your biggest gate of the year was in your "derby". Under 21,000 - your lowest was 18 ish. Which is great. But how many people have bought season tickets to the new ground. Trust me, this will drop off. It always does. Especially if you still find yourself in the championship in 5 years or heaven forbid even lower.

The 16,000 was against stevenage in february (fook me its cold) tuesday night game, during a period where at the time if we were being honest, none of us saw automatic promotion as likely.

I take my hat off to those 16,000.

Oh and by the way. Hillsborough may be old. But it has charm. I'll take that over other peoples giant Meccano sets.

I will wait until friday to make my judgement on your new home. I do hope its better than MK Dons

Exactly my point, people aren't posting "Sheffield Wednesday's potential away attendance on Friday :lolol: "

All those people coming all that way to watch them get outplayed, outflaired and generally battered. :D

We would be lucky to take 270 on a Friday night to hillsborough. The posturing by SOME on here is ridiculous. Especially those that can't be arsed with always.

Are away support remains the same whatever the division. It's great in league two/one but leaves something to be desired by championship standards.

In general I think it's poor. And when we do get a close one eg saints last year you get one Brighton fan and 4 day tripper mates who could not care less.

Why do people think they'll bring 2,700 just because someone on Wednesday's stupidest forum says so? ???

It's bollocks. 1,700 tops.

It was reported they only took two thousand allocation..... so this figure of seventeen hundred will be about right

Leeds will bring more on their Friday night match........

Oh we all know about Leed's incredible support! Not bad for a 1 club city. Just a quick check...

Guaranteed you'll have more fun with us in the pubs and the ground on friday. We are, in the main, there to enjoy ourselves. Leeds. They are not. They have a bit of reputation for misbehaving on seaside visits. Board up your windows.
