Now, I'm no @Goldstone1976, @Herr Tubthumper or any of that lot and I don't have bottomless pockets for something 'to die for'

But I'd like a dinner tomorrow night and I would like to get a midweek 'deal' (Don't tell Mrs Wz). So fairly open to 'types' of restaurant, but I'd be interested to know what are people's 'go to' restaurants for a mid priced 'nice' place for two old gits ?

Whole of Brighton and Hove because Miller and Carter, The Elizabethan Tandoori and Galileo are the only ones in walking distance (and La Tania) and I don't want them.

Thanks in advance

Galileo to keep Miss WS in a job I would recommend

Seriously though - https://colosseohove.co.uk/ - decent Italian at a very good price and Billy is always very welcoming - just make sure you book as they are always busy.

Are you referring to your wife as an old git?….still you’ve not said not to tell her on that, just the midweek deal….telephone number or email please

I do love CDC but man have the prices gone a bit loco recently. Still think it’s the best place in Brighton to walk in sober and leave a few hours later crawling on all fours with your eyebrows singed from flambeed chorizo and burping out carajillo fumes into the Lanes air.

I like them but we go there regularly as they are round the corner from my mums. I do like their gorgonzola chicken
I agree and hopefully you tip Ms WS well when she serves you

So where have you ended up going ?

I fancied Into the Blue in Shoreham, but apparently 'we' don't fancy the six dish sharing menu and still haven't decided
You don't have to have sharing dishes. This is a great neighbourhood restaurant.

When dithering a stroll up or down Preston Street, would be my recommendation. Plenty of choice and shouldn't be too busy midweek.

Been to Into the Blue a few times and really liked it. Normally a dither up Preston Street would be a good option, but it is a bit chilly.

Still haven't got to Fanoos. Unfortunately I booked it for four of us a couple of months ago and we turned up on the night to find it closed, so Mrs Wz will take some persuading to give it another go but I'm still hopeful.

I suspect that we'll go out for an earlyish dinner and not decide until we're in the car/on the road
