his performances at Premier League level have been well short overall. We have other options, would prefer Burn.

He was awful with the ball yesterday, tried too much and ended up doing nothing. It didnt help him that the midfield was hiding, often leaving him out of options. Defensively he did his job.

Playing in the wonky role as a right-footed LCB, it works fine when playing against a team that gives him time. Give him time and some space and there are few defenders with a better passing game than his. But in a game like yesterday it turns very vulnerable.

I'm not sure about the solution. Personally I think I would like to see Dan Burn in his role, but tbf Burn got other weaknesses that could become exploited so I'm not convinced it would make much of a difference. I'd like to see it in some games though, with Webster, Dunk, White and Veltman fighting for the two other spots. Yes, I include Dunk in that. No free pass for him.

Quite right to include Dunk in that. Webster has always recieved a lot of really unfair and misplaced stick on here whereas Dunk gets away with everything because of his history but he has been very average this season, the weakest of our centre backs. If you put him on the left of that back three I’m sure he’d struggle even more than Webster did on Monday. Maybe Dunk is not as suited to the back three as much as we thought he would be but he’s regularly been caught out of position and missed challenges this season.

And as I said elsewhere, the common denominators at the back in our premier league seasons have been Ryan and Dunk. Ryan is getting a lot of stick at the moment, including from me at times, for letting in goals and particularly the set peices. But maybe our captain and leader of the defence should also be questioned for not commanding the area enough?

Like you, I would maybe like to see BDB tried on the left of the back three for a bit to give us balance with his left foot but also because I really rate him and he never lets us down. Veltman should also start for me and then it’s between the other three for the one position at the moment.

His charging runs forward are a thing of beauty.

Certainly not afraid to take on and beat a player or two either. Really hitting his stride now in this elite league, can’t be far off an England call up if keeps this up.

It was 100% appropriate to drop him when we did, however that has seemingly spurred him into life and he's come roaring back

Another Webster fan here.....getting better and looks a unit going forward.

Webby has always had it within, he just needed more top-class matches under his bout. Could we really hope for a better duo in the heart of our defence?

And better still they are both Sussex lads.

I’ve always rated him and am extremely happy to see him doing well.

But how long before we hear bring back Duffy again. I always appreciated Mr Duffy, but Mr Webster is a cut above.

He is really starting to turn it on. So, So, So much better on the right.

Yeah, always play him on the right imho, which means I suppose Ben White moves into midfield? Tricky isn’t it
