I agree Mr Popkins

My Dad was a life member of the Royal British Legion.

The Poppy Appeal isn't just for remembering the dead but provides income and assistance to people now who have become disabled or fallen on bad times through serving in the forces.

Back in Sussex
Here in Montreal nearly everyone wears a poppy all the time (at this time of year) - I have been quite surprised by it all.

Good call Popkins. My Grandad died of Alzheimers last year, which meant his long-term memory was excellent though his shortterm memory was obviously shit. He talked alot about his beloved brother, who was shot down in WW2. They died for us

No question. I always wear a poppy every year. Always have, always will. It's very trite to say we wouldn't be here now if it wasn't for all the sacrifices made - but it needs saying anyway.

Good shout Popkins. I can only imagine the horrors blokes my age (22) must have seen. A few quid every year seems a very small price to pay for the freedom we now enjoy.

Falmer, soon...
F'kin Yanks on the tube last night wanting "one of those pretty flowers" Didn't have a clue what they were for.

I put them straight. Hopefully they'll pitch in some noteage.

Given that the Yanks single handedly won WWI and II it's surprising that they did not know what poppies were for

Always buy one but double my efforts this year seeing as both my grandfathers are now dead.

When you consider what our relatives went through, and the scum you see around the streets today and the stupid killings it does make you angry.
