For all those people who think it's all about Falmer and that CCC status doesn't matter:

Q - How have we funded the application and Public Enquiry?

A - Selling Zamora, Virgo, Harding, Cullip, Currie, i.e. £4m-odd in fees.

You get decent money if players perform in the CCC, you get buttons if they perform well outside of it. Of that lot, only Bobby would have commanded any decent fee in League 1.

In all likelihood, Hinsh, Kazim-Richards and Hammond could all go in the next couple of years if they perform, and those proceeds could be crucial.

We will be a selling club for the next few years, which is why we need to bring youngsters through. The likes of Dodd are all very well, but not Dodd AND Ashby.

Why?
We only get gates of 6K now

Playing in League 2 in Falmer would still get gates of 6K without the massive overheads that Withdean brings.
Yeah but fans won't pay the £23 or so to watch league 2 football. We will need about 12k to break even at falmer i would guess:drink:

This is spot on... CCC-status is so very important, and I just can't believe the comments about relegation not being a problem... as I said in the past, relegation means:

Possible loss of manager
Certain loss of best players (at reduced money)
Lower revenue (TV money and, with 2k extra seats, gate receipts)
More difficulty in finding Falmer investors...
Etc...

Oh, and we need to strengthen with keeper, lb, cb BEFORE the Derby game... with the Harding tribunal now complete, the club has zero excuses for not investing some of the cash windfalls in squad strengthening soonest... and I'm not talking about panic buying, just minimising the chances of a poor start, which we can ill-afford if we are going to avoid the drop...

MM should have been planning to recruit based on a good estimate of the Harding cash for weeks now... let's get moving and get some players in NOW...
