We WILL finish top 6

I profoundly apologise for being positive which goes against some people on here but I can tell you we will finish 6th.

We have a fantastic squad and played brilliantly last week. The game would have been different if Barnes stayed on. Judging by some people's logic, Boro now have no chance after their 4-0 loss to Ipswich; it's one bad result for gods sake and with 50 points still to play for as they say "anything can happen". The gap to the play offs is exactly the same as before so whichever way you thought the season would go, you can't change your opinion based on this result.

Rant over.

Agreed, we can still do it, no problem.

Not a chance it's all about March 17 now, the only thing I think will be worth shouting for, almost but not quite this season, 7th or 8th place finish.

We have to get a winning mentality - we have the players, but we need to et them to believe that we are going to win every game

The moment we go behind in a game, it's all over. Plus we concede too many right at the death.

There is a chance, but Poyet needs to grow some balls and instil some grit and resolve in his players.

If we're going to finish 7th, at some point between now and the end of the season there's going to be a serious chance of us getting to the top 6.

Agreed @brynylon , he seems to still think that being a technical team will get us success, it brings limited success and at this stage of the season it has been shown to be insufficient to compete with more direct physical sides.

I'm still confident. All teams have crap results, it's just us that have collective PMT when it happens.

THere's still a game in hand, and if we win we'll be 2pts off the play-offs and in with a shout. Still lots of games to play.

We won't. We aren't consistent enough and our inability to come from behind will be our downfall. 8th or 9th for me.

I remain confident, today was just one of those days, similar to the Palace defeat. Going a man & goal down away from home in this division is virtually impossible to rectify.

As long as we are more ruthless with games we boss, we will make it.

we can definitely make the playoffs but im afraid there are too many of these!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is our biggest problem. We just cannot win when we go behind. I can't imagine there are many teams in all 4 divisions who have gone as long as us without winning from behind in a competitive match (before someone throws in the Chelsea game).

I do think we lack a couple of 'leaders' on the pitch to really motivate others.
