Yes, but Sidwell is ten times the player Dean Hammond is (and incidently, went on a free!). Sidwell should be in the England squad. I'm not convinced Hammond would be a consistent starter with a half decent Championship team.

Yes, he's important to us, but that doesn't make him worth £3m! £500k absolute tops with various clauses. We're not looking to sell him and nobody is interested, so it's an irrelevant discussion but show some realism!

Fully agree with all.

I believe we are still missing a decent goal scorer if we want to progress.Forster doesn't score regularly enough for me.Gatts is simply not the answer and probably not good enough.Savage will set more up then score himself.Revell work rate is top notch but no end product.Elder i'm really not sure about or convinced he is the answer. We need someone who you can rely on who will get 20 goals a season. We should be looking at getting someone in on loan

yeh its really that simple, you should be the manager :bla:

we dont need another striker particularly (although wouldnt say no to Bowditch coming back) but we do need to start passing the ball and moving forward with intent - at the minute it wouldnt matter who was up front - they would see little of the ball in places where they can hurt the opposition
On our day we can do it but we seem to lack purpose and the confidence that comes from it

The problem is not with Forster and his ability it is the pattern of play that we adopt of hitting the ball forward and everybody chasing it. That is down to the manager and coaches and unless we have the players, which we dont, to play that way we will never score goals,

To play that way we need a Paul Furlong, Dele Adebola, Dion Dublin type player so that Forster can play off of him.

Instead of whom. He is a potemtially good player but not yet the finished article in the terms of England internationals, buy way, way above our level or any of our players.

Yes, your probably right, more a fringe player than someone necessarily in the squad, but i wouldn't put him massively behind someone like Carrick in that positon. He's certainly of a similar callibre to players like Bentley, Downing and Barry.

Forster in his career has never scored 20+ goals in a season, why should he start now?

Ssshh don't let facts get in the way of an Nsc debate.

I completely agree with that....but i still can't help but feel we need to improve the service. I'm not sure Martot is the answer, but he'll need time to adapt to the english game.
