We are timid, crap and very unlucky.
.....and normally that would be enough to beat Br*ght*n ffs.
This is from Everton's forum, so **** them.

There’s no doubting we got lucky today, a draw would have been a fair result, however I thought Everton were bang average and that was probably our worst 90 mins of the season. If we’d have played like we did against Spurs we would have destroyed that Everton team today.

Having said that, after we got our equaliser I said to my boy that we were due a late winner in our favour for a change so was ecstatic when it happened having travelled to Villa Park last Saturday and felt the pain of their late goal. Another home win next week and we should nicely be in the top half !

Everton lack that dominant spine. They miss Gueye in the middle of the park, they were unlucky that Bernard had to go off in the first half, but Marco Silva won't be taking them to the Promised Land any time soon.

We got lucky but about time. They looked more dangerous than us for most of the game, but our desire after the pen was impressive, un-Hughton-like. We will finish higher up the table this season,

On the 'team for' thread I was moaned at for my previous moan regarding 'Everton are better than us, they've spent £300m' bollox.

I defy anyone to tell me they looked £200m better than us today.

They would kill for at least half our side today, even after everybody from the manager down admitted we had a off day.

Speaking of managers Silva's not fit to comb Potter's hair.

So I'm going to stick with my assertion, they is shite, money doesn't talk, and Silva is the Emperor's new clothes.

I was agreeing they aren’t as good as they or some others think they are, and are nowhere near Top 6, but shite?

Southampton, now that was shite?

I thought they looked far more likely to win but we kept going forward, Potter tinkered and we seemed to click into gear once Trossard came on. We had some luck but we had some due so I don't feel we mugged them as much as people think.......we won a game which could have gone either way.Good enough for me.

We won a game we didn`t deserve to.....It happens, perhaps not as much for us as we`d like. 10 games played and two point above Man United !

I know.

Sure Southampton are shite but then again that's hardly news, even to Southampton fans.

When I say they're shite I do mean in relative terms.
Just as the opulence of the Premier League means the 'top 6' are one poor decision from falling away.
I believe Everton, the perennial champions of The Everton Cup, are in exactly the same situation.

Believed their own hype, talk of being a 'big club' yet when all is said and done they now actually have far more in common with us bottom feeders than the top 10.

Potter made a rare mistake imho in setting up 4 in midfield. Everton’s 5 outfought us for 70 minutes. Davies, Walcott and Iwobi are routinely destroyed on their main fans forum, but today our set up made them look accomplished PL midfielders.

I like Davies, but for a player who cost so much and is paid so much, Iwobi was poor. I expected Walcott to cause Dan Burn far more trouble than he did.

Exactly my feelings...

"Everton haven't won away since March".

As said considerably nearer the bottom feeders than they ever will be top 6.

Two balanced teams, neither at their best. Good game, good result, pretty entertaining. Isn't this what we hoped PL football would be like, and feared it wouldn't be? Anyone can beat anyone - I don't think we mugged them, we showed more desire to win when it counted, and we did.

Except ManC and Chelsea .... they absolutely love playing BHAFC, whoever’s the manager.

Well we deserved a bit of luck and today we got it just 2 games we have deserved to lose city and Chelsea and we have lost others due to bad luck and silly sods getting themselves sent off. Today we probably deserved a point and got 3 I still say we are 6 light and over a season it evens out am convinced we will finish top half...just

Not entirely sure I agree.

A point apiece would probably have felt about right, I think. I've not checked the stats, but my gut feel is possession and attempts were pretty even today. I certainly don't feel like Everton bossed us in any way at all.

I thought they mugged us badly with the second goal, and then resorted to cheating and got caught out and paid the penalty.

NB: I remember saying during the match that the side dominating is going to lose with a counter attack. Or Everton had more of the ball in the first half, but we looked the more dangerous in attack.

Even saying that, Everton were the best side we played at the Amex this season funnelling back into deep defence. but frequently lured out, and not any good at pressing

We weren't at out best for 80 mins. Great to pick up 3 pts anyway. Everton were nothing special though. Never seen so many players rolling about!
