"You couldn't score with your sister" was the most cringeworthy for me. Even without taking into account that we were 3-0 down it doesn't make ANY sense.

Swindon, but used to be Manila
About 5 rows behind me, there were 3 older ladies asking everyone to sit down if the ball came near the goal (not very often) Now come on dear if you dont want people to stand in front of you sit in the front row, This is football not the theatre!

Sorry, agree with the old ladies on this...they have paid for a SEAT and having someone stand in front of you blocking your view is annoying to say the least..perhaps the Ladies have difficulty in keep standing up to see...yes I know it's football...perhaps they could'nt get a seat in the front...and even when you do you have your view blocked by stewards and people going to the loo...can turn around your 'go to the front' by saying you are fit and healthy then if you want to stand up,go to the back where you are not blocking someones view....I pay to watch a match not someones back...I'm very lucky at the Amex,no one can walk in front of me...but away matches it's different...remember it is all seating Stadia now,to me the only time people need to stand is when a goal has been scored...not when the ball gets down in the oppontents halve...just have a little thought of those behind you.

hope last night was purely down to it being cup 1st round/friendly atmosphere because it was just embarrasing. from the 'we love oxford' chant to 80% of us sitting down in silence we were just a shambles.

i'm not exactly old but remember going to swindon just 7 or 8 years ago and we had 2500+ standing, singing and generally creating and atmo.

My kids couldn't see because of people standing up in front of them, so we moved down to the front row  plenty of space down there.

Open air away end, not many travelling cos it was on tele, no-one that bothered as it's the League Cup and a pretty shite performance. No surprise the atmosphere wasn't great. In saying that "We Love You Oxford" is early contender for shittest chant of the season, incredibly cringe and tinpot.

When it comes to cringeworthy singing............

When we went to Sunderland a few years back (2 - 0 loss) some of our fans were singing the theme tune to Byker Grove to wind up the mackems..

Anyone else remember the home game vs Pompey and some of the WSU break in to Oh When the Saints go marching in? WTF is all that about, sing about your own club not others FFS

Would of been better off staying at the back with the performance

Should add the same people will sing the "We pay your benefits" chant, same people are usually late teens, early 20s i think.

To be fair (and I'm guessing you were there as I certainly didn't hear that on the box) I'm guessing that was in response to the Swindon fans singing similar but for your sister see gay bar which was audible on the telly.

As you correctly point out though they did score....3 times.

Singing about Oxford though :wozza:

I agree some of the songs were cringe worthy but instead of coming on here and moaning about it how about try starting a different song?

This....

But that would mean them travelling away to support their team away from the Amex - God forbid
