I rarely bother getting up and chanting 'staaaaaaaaand up if you hate paaaaalace' anymore, let the others get on with it, I dont like Palace but I think they know most Brighton fans dont.

Does anyone know if Palace chant about us every match?

I've been going to Palace for a long time and we don't sing we hate Brighton or many Anti Bha songs anywhere near as mush as we used to,
I think it's great to keep the rivalry alive and kicking, That Amex victory stirred up the hated in me and as a result was the sweetest feeling ever to stuff you in your own back yard and to take the plss, I suppose that's all added to the Amex crowds hatred of us.

Long live the rivalry,

I started watching Brighton play in the early '80s. We sang anti-Palace songs back then, and we've been singing them ever since. Why all of a sudden they get on everyone's nerves? It only seems to be all the JCL's who want to turn up and sit in a library for 90 minutes with maybe a ripple of polite applause when somebody scores a goal, who are doing all the moaning.

This, I'll sing anti-Palace songs til the day I die.

Pork pie land.
This tirade of we hate Palace songs is really getting on peoples nerves now and I think the only way to stop it is by the rest of the crowd to start booing as soon as it starts up, maybe the message will get through, you never know it might make them come up with something original. Unless somebody else has a suggestion.

I suggest you piss off back to Highbury with a user name like that, and anyone else who does not like anti-Scum songs can piss off with you. Oh, the Scum are Palarse not the Yids in this case.

Ironically, I get on great with the Palace fans that I know and I don't hate any individual person (or even dislike) based on what football team they support. It is just banter. I often join in the anti Palace songs but that is just a part of the tribal nature of football crowds. We see others enjoying something and join in. If the fans meant what they sang, there would be serious trouble every time the clubs met. It's when they start to mean what they are chanting that you need to worry about it.
Personally, despite the rivalry, I have more respect for a Londoner who supports Palace than one who supports Manchester United, Liverpool etc.
I still hate Palace though! :albion2:

1. Highbury is no longer the home of Arsenal.
2. It is Canon, not Cannon. I am a Canon man too, so is BHA Snappy. In fact I often take one to the Amex with me.

I don't mind the anti palace songs but so wish they would sing them at the right tempo and why in " if you all hate palace clap your hands" do they have to ruin it with all that clapping.

As long as it's not overdone I don't mind the Palace songs so much, would prefer pro Brighton songs unless playing them but it's sure better than silence.

Thanks for your post. Now I would like an explanation to the reference "Yids" I await your reply with interest, hopefully today, but will wait as long as it takes. Thank you.

Me neither, But then again by the time I manage to get out my wheelchair and on my feet they've moved onto a different song and I end up looking a right plum.
