The fact that our points tally now is the same as it was last season is largely not the point. There was never going to be a short term improvement anyway.

Graham Potter's expansive, open, attacking style of football gives us far more options and opportunities to improve, whereas Chris Hughton's dour defensive tactics were ever going to lead to survival by the skin of our teeth, or more likely relegation.

Plus of course watching football at the Amex has become a pleasure again, I know which l would choose. All managers have their day, and playing styles go out of fashion. I liked Chris very much and he did a fantastic job in getting us promoted, and l thank him very much for that. But maybe that's exactly what he is best at, getting teams into the Premier League, and then moving on.

Anya - are you a potato by any chance? Your thread makes me think you have a chip on your shoulder.

Apart from that you’ll probably get roasted for your post. Anyway, enough of the humour already, I’m going back to bed and so should you. :yawn:

Back to bed? you mean you aren't enroute to Anfield? . . . call yourself a fan? :wink:

Try watching a game and tell me that we are no better. It’s an entertainment business and we are entertaining most fans again.

You are one of a few CH diehards with an agenda, let it go ffs or at least accept that there was a case for CH being sacked, even if you didn’t agree with it.

This. And.....end of thread.

The wins this season (excluding Everton) have been far more convincing fact...in addition I can’t recall matches this early in the season like we’ve had against West Ham, Burnley Newcastle Southampton where we deserved more ...the team/style has bags more potential and this is no discredit to CH

The numbers don't lie, how we have offered Potter a 6 year contract is beyond me. Shocking!

Possibly because Tony Bloom is very happy with the progress made in the style of football in a very short time;
Possibly because some of the eight teams who are below us in the Mail's chart are thinking of sacking their managers and may be looking at him; or
Possibly because the 15 points we have taken from the first thirteen games is one more point than the team managed during the full nineteen games of the second half of last season.

Nobody was criticising Chris Hughton at the beginning of December last year. By complaining that Potter hasn't improved on that, you are ignoring the decline that we all know followed. On sacking Chris, Tony Bloom talked of how difficult it was for him to make the decision to let Chris go, but pointed to three wins in twenty three matches. We matched that number of wins in a run of four games during October & November and could well have beaten it if Aaron Moye hadn't have been sent off at Villa.

There was definitely a case! But they should have given him the 1st half of the following season. The football is better but we spent loads too. Let's see where we end up at the end of the season, the 6 year contract given GP is premature!

No one is looking to hire GP he hasn't done anything yet!

Could have should have, becoming a common theme let's hope we don't say the same thing is we got relegated...
