How is Potter doing in comparison to last season now?
Better against Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs, for a start.

Why the facepalm? Our chairman deserves every Brighton fan’s support. His decision to sack your beloved Chris was 100% correct. So, why the facepalm?
The facepalm was because of the implication that it was Brighton who got Hughton to the PL - and not the other way around - thought that one would be pretty obvious.
Guardian reporter pointed out that Lampard clearly lost the tactical battle with GP today.Potter did brilliantly today with the adjustments at half-time.
Not getting enough credit IMO.

It was actually - you need to go back and read several of the previous postsThat makes no sense whatsoever. Certainly not was implied by the post you gave the facepalm to.
Seems to me you think that it was only because of Hughton that the club got to the PL. He was one of several factors. We would have got there whether it was Hughton or some other manager in charge. We got close several times before and it may have happened when it did, it may have happened a couple of years later but it would have happened.
As b.w.2. quite rightly pointed out, this club had been building for this moment for some considerable time. The stadium, the training facility and academy etc, all financed by a lifelong seagull fan, not some money man looking to make a quick buck as with most other clubs. Hughton was part of the jigsaw, he wasn't the only piece!!! Your knowledge of football is poor if you think otherwise.

Oh - holy bejaysus - look - if Hughton was never manager, Brighton could well have won promotion - the could even have stayed in the PL for 3 or more years. But all of that is supposition. Hughton took over the club at the bottom of the Championship, got the club promoted and kept the club in the PL for two years. Was he the only one responsible for that - no - the club had to by players, the players had to perform, and the fans played their part as well. Hughton was the first manager since 1979 to take the club into the top division - why not celebrate his achievement as manager, getting promoted and keeping the club in the PL for two season - and move on - enjoy the ride with Potter. Instead we have this repeated nonsense of comparing this season and last - its like trying to compare marmite with bovril.

You seem very keen to curtail any credit to Hughton with some of your comments.
There is literally no evidence to suggest it would have happened, because we’d failed previously and in fact went backwards under Hyypia.
Poyet certainly wasn’t a bad manager, even Garcia (not my cup of tea), made the play-off’s.
We might have made it, we might not of......... Derby?
Weren’t we becoming known as Club Infrastructure?
Hughton wasn’t the only reason, but the facts in terms of what we achieved would suggest he was the main one.

And, again, you fail to give ANY credit to TB... you are a clown...

This will just come down to opinions but whilst important, CH was not the main one in my view. That will be the chairman and what was being done to provide the infrastructure to support promotion bids and beyond. CH isn't the only manager ever to get teams promoted from the championship which is why I would put him second in importance to Bloom.

Last time I looked although Bloom provided the infrstructure for the club to succeed, he had very little to do with team selection and tactics, whereas those previous managers did...... To say we would have achieved it eventually just cannot be substantiated.
We could be still in the championship, depending on Bloom bailing us out, instead we are now in the PL (which is down to Hughton)...................
depending on Bloom bailing us out........
By selecting Hughton as manager Bloom clearly made a good decision, as he seems to have done with Potter.
