You get a few exceptional years, but I'd be surprised if more than about 10% of any club's DS make it through to the first team squad, and most of those that don't make it seem to have to drop down 2-3 divisions to have a future in the professional game.

Sooooo glad we built this 'wonderful' academy instead of investing the £20m on the first team!!! (Or even £10m...£5m?!.....tenner?!?!)

I guess Tony Bloom - it's all come out of his pocket after all - is a long term thinker. Also, the academy is not counted against FFP, so it's not as simple as saying that the £20m could've been spent on the team.

Bloomed investing in bricks and mortar not football. Businessmen turn a profit. You won't find much profit in football. You will in real estate.

Hotel anyone....?

There are lies, damn lies, and statistics! OK, point taken, but I've always considered 50 points to be the 'safe' mark - and the sooner we get there the better, because I think that might be needed this season, or very close to it.

Would be amazed if a hotel in falmer will recoup him best part of 200 million

Hotel. Stadium. Academy. BHAFC infrastructure/sponsorship potential would. Probably at a profit. There is MINIMAL investment in the first team squad. The last 18 months has been nothing short of asset stripping whilst planning a bloody hotel!

Quite. And if he was just in it to build a hotel, then he would have just built the hotel and not spent 200m in building a high spec stadium and committing to underwrite the continuing annual losses of the football club.

The AMEX cost £200m did it? If you believe it cost half that you've never been there!

First team 18 months ago. First team now. Sales from. Money reinvested.

I'm done, believe what you want. All I see is a bloke put up a hell of a lot of money with little chance of getting it back (if he wants to) unless we play top flight football (and even then it would be a push) and you think he has been asset stripping ...

wow. you really can dream...... good effort

Why is that a dream, its what the Albion used to do in the 50s 60s and 70s with regularity? I suppose you didnt know we would get the support we do now when we were Gillingham and Withdean. Incredible that some people support but just dont get this club

The Amex and the training ground/academy at Lancing. You are being economical with the truth to try and prove a point that isn't there.
Asset stripping?

I didn't realise the club was running at an operating profit 18 months ago.

I'm afraid a awful record at home will relegate us. It's a shame as the 20k hardcore home fans deserve better but Hypia's continual poor selection process has ruined confidence at home. I think Millwall will get out of it and I just prey that Rotherham slip into this more. If they don't then it's good bye championship.

How much has he actually received of that cash so far?

Has the debt changed at all?

I'm not sure I understand your question?
