That doesn't really seem to be the case though. We seem to be creating somewhat of conveyer belt of talent but we're not offloading assets at a rate that should cause any real concern.

We need these big transfers to top clubs to attract the 10 to 25 million pound "punts" and show them that once they've proved their worth and repaid our investment we won't stand in their way...for the right price.

The concern would be if we are letting our top talent leave without finding their replacements but all the evidence points to there being a very sensible transfer strategy where we are getting stronger every year we stay in the top flight.
Exactly this. Carefully managed sales when the time/price is right, replaced by the next unpolished diamond. Staggering that some still can’t see it.

And MC and AMac could be off next season and there goes our world class midfield and a huge reason why we are playing so well.
Completely this. Our destiny is eventual relegation. We’re not about to embark on decades of top flight stability. We’re in that pack where sheer bad luck is enough to relegate us never mind the hazards of player market place.

Which is why I always dismiss talk of ‘projects’ (who the feck gets time for those in the PL?!) and secondly, to enjoy it whilst it lasts because bloody hell it’s a crumbly cliff we’re perched on at the best of times!

If Caicedo and AMac go we won't be stronger in the midfield next season.

Continuity plays a big part in building a successful team long term.

Continuity plays a part in the best teams being able to compete at the same level for extended periods of time.

The beauty of NSC. Maupay is shit and a waste of time, Potter needs sacking cos he can't organise a piss up in a brewery, Trossard is a sulking child who won't be missed by anyone. Bissouma is a lazy sod looking for a move. Only Cucurella comes out of it with any credit in the bank and he turned out to be the biggest arse of them all. No wonder things are better!
And who would have bet on that?

Oh,,, hang on...??? :lolol:

Excellent dose of depressing negativity amidst the best period in the club’s history

No idea, but I guarantee Tony, Paul and Roberto know.
I know you’re right, but I have to confess that it doesn’t stop me getting edgy when you see all the departures but no incoming activity yet (excluding youngsters for the future). I’m assuming that having lost Mwepu and Trossard we’re now 2 short in our named 25 man squad

But all good things come to an end, nothing lasts forever etc. Naive to think Brighton will uniquely enjoy permanent sunlite uplands? Or utopia as it’s otherwise called.

Time will tell if that's the case.

It's a difficult job to put together a world class midfield.

Once you do have one to only give it a season to function and then break it up means you're back to square one trying to assemble what you just had.
Have I missed the sale of Ali Mac or Moises ?
If not Roll with it ! to quote some obscure northern band 😉
Until It unfolds as you seem to believe
Quit with the negative waves Moriarty

Why would you ‘exclude youngsters for the future’ ? Like Ferguson you mean ? Enjoy what’s happening.

We know what happens in the off season though. We've been watching the template unfold each season now.

Caicedo will be gone, AMac we might be fortunate to hold onto for another season.

It's not negative, it's discussing the model we use.

That’s your take, my observation is he’s just stating reality (during the best period in club’s history!).

Fine line between optimism and delusional after all.

But as previously stated, that’s why we should enjoy the moment because we known as football fans…you’re only as good as your last game!

It is negative- ‘we won’t be stronger’ is negative
I thought losing Potter would weaken us. I was wrong, massively

We've done brilliantly in the transfer market, brilliantly with player development and I agree with the sale of Trossard.

But I can't think of a single club in any division ever, who has consistently sold their best players and managed to replace them on a long term basis. Sure there have been plenty who've got away with it for a season or two, but it's caught up with them in the end.

To me that's the only warning. At some point we're going to have to stand our ground and refuse offers for players we consider irreplaceable, or the laws of football gravity will catch up with us eventually.

I can't believe people are trying to have a conversation with @Tyrone Biggums. I have several on ignore and he was the first. Utter clown. Trump supporter. Gun ownership supporter. FFS.
