I would agree with you if it wasn't so late in the window, as long as it isn't Palace. No chance to spend anything we get for him without it being a rush job today.
They would have been preparing for it and making enquiries "just in case". All clubs face the same last day dilemma and it works out OK.
I can see Bridcutt going and good luck to him. Ulloa, not a chance. He was obviously going to be the subject of tabloid speculation given his performances and Palace makes a good story. I've far more faith in Bloom to be even remotely bothered about him being sold to anyone.
The sad thing is that if Bridcutt goes to West Brom, it's hard to imagine he'll ever get a game if Yacob and Mulumbu are fit. It'd be nice to think that's a factor in his thinking. Trouble is, the disparity in wages these days is so great, I can't see why any player would turn down a move to the Premier League, even if they end up stuck on the bench.
You have a very short memory.
Do you really think what happens in one transfer window trumps everything else that Bloom has done for the club? That people will turn on the board if we lose a couple of players?

I wouldn't begrudge LB the chance to step up to the PL, he showed his ability vs. Arsenal that's for sure, WBA is probably about the right level for him to slot in nicely and he would at least be in a team that has a reasonable chance of staying up. Will settle for somewhere north of £3m and good luck to him.

It's no good having either of the above if we sell our best players for peanuts, play our games in front of 18,000 people(which will be what we will be lucky to get at home games next year if we don't do well) and also have year on year struggling in the championship.

Yes I do- I saw it in 1986/87 when we sold our best players for next to nothing and then got relegated.

I think Bridcutt will go for around 3 - 3.5 million, we have good cover now and have not missed him like we thought we would. I think some of the money will be used to bring in a decent striker on loan from one of the top clubs. No way will Ulloa be going unless it is for crazy money which Tony cannot turn down and if he does we will have a plan b for this scenario. All in all I do not think we should be panicking.

So true. If the club think record season ticket holders will keep renewing if we sell our best players then the club are deluded and like you pointed out that crowds will dwindle and the club will have to find even more savings which will result selling even more players.
When you look at the club now, what do you see that is similar to the situation in 1986/7?
Have a think about how much of that improvement is down to Tony Bloom, then come back and tell me why you will turn on him if Ulloa & Bridcutt are sold.

As much as I love Liam, I don't think he's going to thrive in OG's team like he did in Gus's. If we're going to cash in now is the time to do it.
With Andrews, Agustien and Ince coming through our midfield is much stronger this season, if we can get £3-4mil for Liam and then use it to strengthen in other areas I'll be happy.

How I see it, if we sold Bridcutt for say as you said, £5mil. That gives us 4 months to keep an eye on out-of-favour premier league players. These clubs know we have money waiting, so we can negotiate a price and personal terms with the player so once the transfer window opens, we can get him to sign the papers and be ready for the rest of January rather than pussyfooting around on the last day which will more than likely lead to panic buys.

Lets weigh up a few things before assuming that LB is going to jump at the opportunity to play in the PL.
1) He wants to play every week. Thats why he turned down another year at Chelsea. Would he play every week at WBA or Norwich?
2) Are either of these two guaranteed to stay up? If you are going to play in the PL, you want to be confident that you're not going to be back in the Championship next season.
3) Are any of the teams who are targetting him, better medium term ( next three years ) prospects than BHA?
4) His and his wife's roots are in Reading...so they do not want to a long way from there...Norwich..too far away....WBA...a possibility.
5) Now the most important factor, alongside money. Mrs Bridcutt absolutely loves living in the Brighton area and is very settled. Any deal has got to get past her. They have a very young child and Liam would not want to spend time away from the two of them. So if its relocation...its a big decision.

Can't see Ulloa leaving unless we are offered silly money (£10m+) but wouldn't be surprised to see Bridcutt go for around £5m, sadly. He's done his time here, served us well and if the money is right he deserves a crack in the top flight.
