uuumm where did I said rooney is'nt a quality player? i think you're confusing yourself!

and yes I would call rooney/forster/whoever a cheating **** if they blatantly dived, ok?!

OK well I think you're in a bit of a minority there, a lot of people would still support Forster because he's OURS, and I'm just noting that (understandably perhaps) some people on here don't feel like the England players are OURS. I do.

I'm far from Rooney's biggest fan and can honestly say I've never celebrated his goals for England.

I have never booed the England players, when he scores I sigh and wonder why he didn't do that during his two year drought. I don't boo him, but I don't cheer.

So you wouldn't cheer if he scored the winning goal in the last minute to win us the World Cup? That's very sad.

Perhaps because he was being totally misused by a moron who didn't know our best system? Last time he played in a system that worked for him was Euro2004 - look what happened then?

So if he dived to get us a penalty that would mean we went up you would be angry?!

Sorry but that's bordering on insane. :thud: :thud: :thud:

I've become quite detached from the england team. I find the coverage of the matches more interesting than the matches themselves. I think whether I celebrate a last minute goal by him would depend on the pattern of the match. I have no emotional attachment to Villa, but when Young put in number 3 against everton, even I reacted to that. I might, in the future. But I haven't in the past, at least not since he joined Man Utd, and not since his return to international form. But Englands failure to qualify for Euro2008 has led to me feeling somewhat detached from the England team.

During that two year period of not scoring for england, he wasn't exactly banging them in for Utd. Didn't they have one of their worst years in recent memory during his first season there? (Which for them was: being knocked out the Champions league before the semis, finishing third in the premier, losing out on the league cup, it might have been the year they beat millwall in the FA cup...)

That was absolutely the best thing to happen for English football since Euro96. I loved it because I knew it meant we would see a change.

Where people like Rooney get lucky, as someone once commented, is that if he wasn't good at football, he'd still be some little toerag on the back streets of Liverpool in and out of prison for ABH and GBH at regular intervals.

mans game, see a lot worse every saturday down the locaql rec

It's a man's game... until it comes to booing, then if you boo you're hurting their feelings and making them go into their shells and cry like little babies. Apparently.
