Going through some of there previous 'rumours'; some happened but a whole lot more didn't. Would be surprised, but I wouldn't complain nonetheless for bringing his football ability AND missus!

Well that would be the defence sorted, wasn't that bad as it was, but now it should be a tight as a ducks arse....Don't know if I would ever describe a left back as a "gem"signing though......If this comes off, then we just need to concentrate on sticking the ball in the net more often at the other end.

I've come back home.
From late last year...

Jake Robinson on twitter: 'Michel Kuipers told me yesterday Brighton are talking to Wayne Bridge!'

Goes along with what Dean Cox said on Twitter as well. Probably both on a wind up though!

Manchester City transfer gossip: Wayne Bridge £90k weekly wages cost him Brighton loan move - Transfer News - MirrorFootball.co.uk

GP: The problem with Wayne Bridge is his salary," said Poyet, whose team are 12th in the Championship after winning promotion last season. "The gap between what we pay and what they earn in the Premier League is from another world - we cannot pay even ten per cent of his wages.

Wayne Bridge to sign for Albion on loan?

Just saying...

He was on at £90k/week at Man City and because he refused to get transferred last season he ended up training with the reserves and youth team then eventually on his own, just working out his contract. He did go on loan at Sunderland, but his salary was subsidised by Man City.

A good honest Stanmore lad (Winchester estate), from which one of my mates said he 'taught him football' when he was a young kid. But I don't think he'll be heading back down south to play for Brighton

Disagree. They are the same age, but Bridge has achieved so much more.

Certainly earnt a lot more. But I've never been impressed by Wayne Bridge. He's always struck me as being someone who is a brilliant player in theory, but doesn't really do it on the pitch often enough. He was found out at West Ham when he went there on loan, and barely played for Sunderland on loan since january. Shorey hasn't played either really, but I get a feeling he would be better in and around the squad. I might be wrong completely, but those are my thoughts. In reality, it would be fantastic to sign either of them.

WOW! What a marketing strategy!

1) Arrange pre-season friendly against Chelsea.

2) Entice hundreds of Sussex-based armchair Chelsea fans to attend

3) Announce Wayne Bridge signing

4) Showcase Wayne Bridge at Chelsea game

5) Convert Sussex-based armchair Chelsea fans to Brighton fans.

6) Sell remaining season tickets/match tickets in new stand

Like it.

Why would Chelsea fans wet themselves over Wayne Bridge? He was mainly forgotten at Stamford Bridge when Ashley Cole was signed.
