Watto out on loan

With the recent news that watto is 4 weeks away from resuming training, I have this suggestion for MM. With El-Abd, Virgo and Hinshelwood who can play Right back, why do we need him. We could save some money on the wage bill and loan him out for the rest of the season. It would do him good as he is unlikely to reappear in the first team. Am I being harsh? Would anyone want him?

I think we should permanently rid ourselves of him and put our pull faith in the youth teamers that have come through. We won't get any money for him but it'll be another palyer off the wage bill.

dont get rid of watto he deserves to try and get back in the team. the name of the game is team competition so he will have to prove to mm thats he is good enough for a regular place in the team at the mo we are top of the bad boys league and we could get supensions and we dont want that so keep watto.

Kev, it doesnt work like that, if we get rid of him we have to settle the rest of his contract anyway, so not only would we still lose all the wages we owe him we wouldnt even be able to play him. A loan would be a much better solution as he wouldnt cost us anything. Although he may come in useful at some point of we have injuries.

Who's Kev?

Could we not put him up for a free transfer? Surely then we wouldn't have to pay him off if somebody came in for him?

Unless of course we sold him and the buyer paid off his contract. Unlikely I know but possible.

Loan him out with an instant recall clause. He'll be match fit and will save us money.

Sorry mate struggling with a hangover, mixed your post up with Kev the Ape.

A free transfer would be a great result, I dont think that many teams would be interested though or willing to match his current wage.

With the Loan it depends what wages he's on, no third div club will want to pay 100% of his wages whilst on loan so may opt for a muchless figure. We would then save abit but not that much.

why get rid of him? he is a good player people have short memories

No - it's only people with long memories who think he is still a good player. Was found out in Div 1 last time and looked very average when he did play last season.

Thanks for all the good times but everything comes to an end and for Watto, the end is nigh.

Think his first team days are numbered, but there would be plenty of league 1 & 2 clubs who'd be interested in taking him on free. He's still useful at that level imo.

He was terrfic when BZ was around then all of a sudden he could clear the first man from a set piece or in open play, all very strange, and not a little sad.

fond memories, but somewhat distant. Obviously I'd be delighted if he came back in style, but at the same time I wouldn't be gutted if he went.

the quicker we get watto of our wage bill the better!

he's done a good job and played his part in the past but it's time to say goodbye

:nono: What a bunch of spoilers you are. Paul Watson is still one of our most skilled defenders and lots of expierience.
He must be allowed to get fit and prove he's worth keeping.
Remember the Butters saga when the sceptics turned on him.
NOBODY at this club has a more deadly free kick and corner skill than Paul Watson.
So please stop being completely negative ,vindictive and fickle,
If nothing else he DESERVES his chance to come back..:salute:

Give me Currie's free-kicks and corners over Watto's any day.
Watto's not in the same league IMHO.

Darren Currie's corners and crosses have seemed much more useful than Watto's recent efforts to me. However sad it will be to let him go I'm afraid he does now seem surplus to requirements.

watto's free kicks and corners are very much like beckhams. a thing of the past. a mate of mine at work said to me before the poland game watch beckhams crosses and corners, he never clears the first man anymore. and sure enough he was right, not one cross or corner passed the 1st defender.
sorry watto, i hope you get the chance to comeback but yes, i fear your time has come to move on.
a loan would be a good thing. gets his fittness back and we see how he performs. plus the bonus of a lesser wage bill. especailly since we have lots of cover in that position.
