They have Dawson and Cathcart at centre back, possibly the lowest defensive pairing ever. Would have liked to of seen Locadia, Maupay and Trossard as our front 3 personally. Could be playing into their hands with the big men up front. Time will tell.

Not a huge amount of pace in there......Surprised Trossard not starting but the rest pretty predictable.
Watford are a big side who put their weight about, especially looking to physically intimidate at the start. Away from home it’s a pragmatic defensively oriented team with pace to come on later. Biggest surprise is three at fhe back for this game but suspect Montoya won’t get forward so much.

Not sure what Trossard's done wrong but otherwise unsurprised at that line up. Maupay and Mooy haven't had enough time with the squad, the innovation of March at LWB looks to have continued, Locadia given a chance in the spot where he's been impressing and Jahanbahksh nowhere near the 18. Experienced PL players who have done the whole pre-season starting.

Fully expect Maupay to start sooner rather than later and for Mooy to operate on a "horses for courses" basis.

As others have said, though, the big issue here is lack of pace. We have absolutely none in that side.

Well, it's not what I was expecting to say the least. Looks very 3-4-1-2 which should suit Gross playing in behind Murray and Locadia, who will hopefully be a front two. It would really suit Locadia to play up alongside Murray and being fed by Gross, rather than being marooned out on the wing.

Very surprised to see March start ahead of Bernardo, especially away from home. Bold move though, I'm in favour of it. Not in favour of Jahanbakhsh not being on the bench but Trossard is unquestionably ahead of him and Mooy adds cover for multiple positions. Can't really argue it at the moment.

Not too surprised about Maupay, Mooy and Webster being on the bench as they haven't had a game with us yet, i did think Trossard and Andone would start though to give us some pace up front.
