Can see Hughton taking this. He knows the art of timing and frankly he can’t go wrong now as if they do go down no one can blame him.
Also, he can probably do the job based from his London home. Hope it is Chris and I hope they stay up so that we can see him back at the Amex and give him the reception he deserves.

They probably don't need to Officially sack him.

His contract was till the end of the season and if there was a Cessation Date on the contract it will already be up because when he signed it the season end would have been at the end of May. So perhaps the announcement they are about to make is that is won't be renewed after the last 2 games a re played

The Telegraph say that he’s been relieved of his duties and won’t be in charge of their remaining fixtures.

Assuming the bonus was more than 150m?

no ofc not. But if its 5 or 10, they could try and weasel out of it. Watford may survive anyway because Villa are shit. Actually feel a bit sorry for him. Nobody wanted it and without him they were done.

Proves yet again, there is very little loyalty in football except from the fans.

I think they’ll go for a Johnny Foreigner this time.

The Pozzo’s favour that.

The next up and coming ‘genius’ in Serie A or La Liga.

Yeah, probably. Until about 3 weeks next Tuesday, when he'll be turfed out.

Nothing against Watford at all, but hope now they go down because of the Pozzo's

It’s a last throw of the dice. To be fair quite a brave move from the board. Certainly pro-active.

Gives them a chance of getting something from these previously impossible games.

Wouldn’t matter, if it’s in the contract he’d still get the cash.

Correct - Due to the following

Impossibility of Performance is a defense used in contract law to excuse the performance of one of the parties. In order for the defense to succeed, the party claiming it must not have contributed to the conditions making performance impossible

Absolute madness even in the crazy world of football, reckon they are safe but it would serve them right if they did get relegated somehow .

Maybe the board are resigned they won't get anything out of the last two games but are also hoping neither do Villa and as Bournemouth have just lost they would need a win away at Everton by two goals.

If a manager they have in mind is available now then better get him signed up before some other team nips in once everyone's fixtures are finished!
