Think its a great draw to test how many more players we will need next season to contend next year, they are on cracking form at the moment so if we lose it wouldn't be a huge dissapointment, and as mentioned before its not so big a game than players will get distracted by it ( i.e. games before defenders arn't fully committed due to fear they could get injured an miss the 'big game') We had a small chance of getting a big club in all fairness, if we got through, these probabilitys are halved! And we have every chance of getting through and if we don't it isn't actually that dissapointing. Nice for me.

In the first 2 rounds we had midweek games before the Cup game, so players were rested so that they weren't playing too many games. For the FC United replay we hadn't played for a while before because of postponements so a stronger line-up was played.

Like I say Gus has stated that the league is priority, and with a game the Tuesday after I can see him resting a few more first teamers

That wasn't what I said and it was nothing to do with mid week games. We were up against non league opposition that our reserves should have dealt with. They play higher teams than that in the reserve games.

I'm not too keen, but I believe we can come home with a win. I mean, with the form we are in there is no doubt if we were in Championship we would be around high middle table, and Watford are only sixth, it'll be tight but winnable game. Play a full strength team and maybe, just maybe, we'll be marching into the 5th round of the FA Cup.

I wouldn't - in a way. Every Southampton player's mind will be focused on that game, and they have what 4 games before MU?

Brilliant isn't it!

Could be exceptional for us - 7 points from the next three league games then another chance to test ourselves against a very good Championship side in a game where win or lose doesn't entirely matter.

I think Watford will be as disappointed as we are. It is a winnable game though, and a true test of where we are with this squad.

Chesterfield are top of League 2... a hint of symmetry perhaps?

Still not convinced. And what's symmetry ?

Not the big club away or a small club at home the players alledgedly wanted. Would hazzard a guess Gus will not be taking it that seriously, rather going for 3 points at Brisbane Road on the Tuesday.

Not convinced about what? I thought it would be obvious that Chesterfield are top of League Two and hence illustrate my point - clearly I was wrong. I was trying to point out that I think Watford would be daft to play anything but a full-strength team, as would we if we played the team at the top of the division below us.

If we were to play a weak side against Chesterfield it'd be the same sort of thing. Think that's what he was trying to get accross

Make your point then without the symmetry, couldn't give a monkeys where Cheaterfield are in their league !

Remember at the beginning of the season Watford was one of the favourites to go down.
I think they have a very quick team and have good honest bunch of players but if we perform on our day i think we have a chance.
