Just heard on Radio5,large parts of the south and south east are to face further banning orders on the use of water. Kent CCC and Hampshire were mentioned as facing restictions on the use of water at both Canterbury and The Rosebowl, but know mention of Eaton Road/Sussex CCC. Anybody know anymore?:albion:

They are going to stop the unecessary use of water such as cleaning the outside of buildings and watering parks etc, something like that anyway.

Preston Rock Garden
Brighton parks are not having any hanging baskets this year beacause of the water involved with keeping them alive. Bowling greens such as the ones at Preston vicarage will not be watered and neither will the cricket pitch in Preston park

But...the bowling greens in Preston park and the flower beds will be watered as usual. This is because the water is pumped up from the artesian well that runs under the park......so if you see a gardener watering this year, please don't come up and punch me...it's all above board guv'nor

On a train...
There are whole Oceans full of f***ing water.

In this day and age, isn't there some kind of way of taking the water from the sea, and cleaning it etc?

Got a brook running through my front garden, has caused some worries when levels have been high, but could be very handy.

saaf of the water
Put everybody on a Water Meter.

Those who use more should pay more - a la Gas/Electric.

Why should an old lady living on her own pay the same as her next door neighbour who has 3 kids?

A lot of people don't seem to realise how much Better off they would be with a Water Meter, esp single people and couples.

I suppose the lack of rain will be blamed for the STATE of the pitch at Withdean?

You can't blame the pitch when the players are CLEARLY not up to it.

I blame the manager.

Nonsense. We live in a maritime climate with an abundance of water. When the water companies have stopped losing most of it through shit pipes and learnt to collect it properly like Spain, instead of pumping the extortionate rates they charge us into the shareholder and fatcats pockets, then i'll cut back on my usage.

Don't start panicking until the stand pipes are erected in the streets like they were in 76 or tankers are shipping in water like they were for Bradford and Huddersfield 8 years ago.
Even then we didn't lose our supplies. We just couldn't use hosepipes that's all. There's nothing wrong with using a watering can if you have to water the plants.
