Hey everyone i have heard you lucky bastards have got the playoffs on sky live, i was wondering how i could see this, as im in Australia i miss the seagulls but loving oz but i really dont want to miss the games, even though get sooo much soccer over here eg saturdays games we get two on live even though is about 11pm at night as we are ahead of you, but in england get no live games on saturdays which always thought is crap unless is on morning isnt it, but at times over here had two games on at once and watched both at times and then had another two games on after so had 4 matches shown live on a saturday, was sweet, but anyway i want to see or even listen to commentary of the game on the radio, if i can do either could you please put the site on here as im useless with pcs, i tried to find way to listen to game on radio station in uk but i oouldnt find it, was soooo frustrating, please help as massive game.

Where abouts in Australia are you. There are several Seagulls down under who can help you if you give a location.

They won't show the Division 2 playoffs here. Which is a real shame, as it would be a refreshing change from endless Super 12 matches between teams from NZ and South Africa that no one gives a damn about.

The only thing that they ever show is the Division 1 playoff final, although I was in England this time last year when Foxtel allegedly were meant to show it, so I'm not sure if this rumour is true or not.

i can confirm it is untrue, we get no nationwide matches  we were campaigning for foxtel to show the grimsby v brighton game at the end of last season but they denied us!! :(

Here in Australia our national competition, the National Soccer League (NSL) finished last month with the mighty mighty glory(*note perth seagulls avatar) winning the championship again, however unlike the 3 month break in England between seasons, we have a 17 month break!!! What the f*** are we meant to do for the next 16 months, maybe we can all save up with the money we save from games we don't watch here and come and watch the albion... away :lolol: Oh yeah and the glory got evicted from their stadium so are officially homeless... :nono:

The NSL has finished for good and is being replaced by a new league with clubs run by the state federations rather than just the social soccer clubs, the league was very ethnically based with all sorts represented and there was no money around, the only 2 clubs who had anything going for them were the perth glory(av crowd of 10,370) and adelaide united (av crowd of 13,156), while the other 11 clubs averaged around 2,500 per match. There was no TV coverage of the games and hence little to no sponsership which was the main cause of the league being so poor.

The new league is going to be called the Australian Premier League and is going to hopefully rival the levels of support and infrastructure of the AFL and NRL. With the long break however the majority of the players and talent that was within the already established clubs have now gone to europe/asia to seek alternative work as they couldn't earn a living playing state league soccer. However theres light at the end of this tunnel and hopefully the wait will be worth it.. :jester:

In the meantime, COME ON YOU SEAGULLS!!!!!!!

Have you tried BBC Five Live. They are carrying the playoffs, but teams are not confirmed yet The only draw back is if you have only 56K as I do in Canada, you get a few seconds of dead air every so often. Punch BBC Five/Live into Google. Failing this, get Live text commentary on BBC Sports-Football-My Club=Brighton.

Cant miss this game as is massive, i got bad feeling about it as swindon are a good side and have a very good attack but we have one of best defences in the division just hope we perform, yet in my opinion i dont think we are good enough to go up yet a lot of sides i had seen before come to oz, looked bloody bad as well so i think is very open, i personally thought we were better than q.p.r and should have at least got a point against them, but come on seagulls, keep the good support up and i soooo wish i was there to see the game, doubt even be able to listen to it on radio but going to really try.

I am in a very similar boat.... Really can't be arsed with the whole Seagulls World thing, but i too heard that five live are carrying our game on Sunday.

www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive follow the prompts to listen live.

Getting worried about Euro 2004 only being on Foxtel, too. No terrestrial coverage.

And, yes, no Australian Soccer for 17 months, shocking really.

HEH bendigo is quite small place but visiting some friends of mine here and are really decent and cool people and not charging me any rent and is a change to backpacking around, but maybe working soon in melbourne so be moving down there in near future or whenever get a job and where that is.

Bendigo is nice. Been there a couple of times for work...

Sounds good chief, am in Melbourne myself.... When you get down here, PM me or summat we can catch up, there are quite a few Albion fans in this neck of the woods.....

I went to Bendigo recently - had a look round some wineries.

I would recommend Seagulls World for a fiver. It's definitely worth it. Better than the 700 pounds I've just forked out for the flight back home - and I can't even go to the Swindon games!
