for me it's an entertaining evening and thats all lol. It would be nice if it was fair but even then I doubt I would vote. I might download a song or 2 tho

Although how we can all complian after I hear we can never be relegated cause we is so special and talented bunch.

We can never be relegated because we (and a couple of other countries) fund the frigging thing.

Seeing as it has become a farce maybe it's time we became just another entrant and let the Eastern Europeans fund it seeing as it matters so much to them.

The Polish population in this country is neglible percentage wise and even if most voed for Poland their numbers would be dwarfed by the numbers of British voting for other countries. Whereas a smaller country like Cyprus or Estonia the minorities can make a difference. If half the Russian population of Estonia vote vote for Russia(about 170,000) and half the Estonian population of Estonia are spread over the other 24 countries (about 450,000) the percentage of Russian votes will vastly increase in favour of the Russians.

At the end of the day thats what its all about a bit of entertainment. Hardly worth putting your boot through the tv because your song didn't win. Then again I nearly did when that god awful song from Croatia got through in the semi's.

we still had to qualify through the semi's this year and will have to again next year. Interestingly in the semi's they did split the voting groups up.....maybe that's what will happen in the final next year.

Not that it'll make any difference, we didn't exactly make the final with flying colours

Was interesting hearing Terry move from wry asides a few years ago to a virtual resignation speech at the end of this show.

It is a good evening of entertainment but the predictability of the voting does put something of a downer on the whole thing.

As for last night's results, Russia probably should have won. It was a good song performed by a group who apparently are MASSIVE in Russia and in Eastern Europe.

I was surprised by how well countries like Armenia and especially Azerbajan did.

As for our song, I personally thought it was a very good song and was performed very well. It certainly did not deserve to finish joint last, a finish around 12th would have been a more fair result.

The bald facts about Russia are these:

Five countries did not award any points to Russia, all of them from Western Europe: Iceland, United Kingdom, Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden and San Marino.

Two countries gave only one point to Russia, those were also from Western Europe: the Netherlands and France. The story continues with the only 3 points Russia got which came from Belgium (Russia never scored two).

On the other hand, five of Russia’s six sets of 12 points came from former USSR countries. Another 12 came from Israel, a country with a strong Russian diaspora.

Russia have now had 3 top 3 finishes in a row. The Russian entry had millions of dollars behind it, the singer had finished runner-up in 2006.

I think the show as we knew it is finished. Terry Wogan should resign - hopefully that act wll prompt some action. He gets £150K per show, a show funded by us, Germany, France and Spain, all of whom are regularly getting shat upon.

My personal view - the only chance we have lies with one man. Sir Cliff. One man, one mission, a mission tinged with vengeance for Franco's theft of Cliff's righful crown in 1968.
