....but I have never seen a Brighton player with such a clumsy, uncomfortable, awkward flailing carthorse approach to football who you need second sight to work out where his flick-ons may end up, and who has only one pre-setting - 'KICK'. He is a danger to his opponents, his team mates, and low-flying aircraft alike.

Just my opinion, like.

Hang on, you must have been around when Peter Smith starred at right back?

No one knew what he was doing, least of all Peter.

Good luck to him and I hope he proves us wrong.

But 21 goals in 11 years is diabolical. Literally 'the odd goal' as you described it. He's not a striker.

Nor is his control any good, it's extremely patchy at best, he rarely attempts to get stuck in, and most opponents turn up knowing he's a joke and are therefore NOT intimidated by him.

He's more of a thin trellis fence. Not a brick wall.

On the face of it McCammon is shit.

Has very little actual footballing ablilty and has really got where he is today by his size and causing physical presence.

However if you have the right players around that type of player he can be effective in certain situations.

I don't believe we do.... we get the ball wide and cross into the box, perfect for a targetman pherhaps but not Trolley.

He has an inablilty to time his jump and head the ball down in an attacking manner, normally jumping too early and thus the ball going over.

He needs to play in a team that pass the ball centrally and have a striker or midfielder to pick up the pieces he knocks down, something we don't do.

The only player i could see him playing well with for us is CKR, someone who can pick up the knockdowns and have a crack at goal. I personally would have loaned out McPhee and kept McCammon at the club as something different and another option.

Aye but he tried his heart out and as a defender 'getting in the way' is a good thing.

Sadly, as a striker you need a touch of skill and pace added to some idea of where the goal is.

McCammon was a guy who looked like he could be quite good but never really got close to delivering. Shame but best to move on.
