NRA are so powerful (not sure why) the gun laws will never change unless the NRA is changed in the USA.

Declare them an illegal organisation?

Impossible as far too much political backing.

When the head of it says the only thing better than a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun it sums it all up.

Why worry ? I really don't understand why we are concerned about the repeated mass killings in the U S A ? Their system of gun ownership obviously works so much better than ours . Let's go back to worrying about the real issues, speeding, dog poo and cyclists.

You are so out of touch its laughable. Democrats these days are pro-gun if they want to be elected. The gun grabbers are on the run for one simple reason. They have lost the argument.

With Gun liberalisation, carry and conceal, stand your ground laws etc what has resulted is a reduction in overall gun crime due to the deterrence effect.

Yes America has a gun culture, but by any measure gun ownership reduces crime. I know a lot of people are in denial about this but the gun issue has gone of the radar for this reason, and the fact any gun controll would impact legally held guns. No Politician wants to take the blame for unarmed citizens being gunned down in their own homes.

I don’t understand your response - where is that statement out of touch. The NRA is a powerful lobby, current US politics is the most partisan it has been for years and individual States are introducing tougher gun controls – New York, Connecticut, Illinois, New Jersey and District of Columbia.

The Democratic party are much more prepared to address the issue of gun control but it will not happen at the Federal level for the reasons stated. There have been many studies done showing gun ownership does not reduce crime.

Please come back when you know what you are talking about.

as opposed to unarmed citizens being gunned down in the streets, workplace or school  old ground, the stats show gun ownership doesnt reduce crime, no matter how much the gun lobby like to think an armed citizen will pull out their piece and shoot the bad guy first.

That may be your opinion, but it certainly can't be proven (and in fact, given that the States is estimated to have the most guns per capita than any other country, and yet still has a higher murder rate than most other developed countries, the evidence would suggest that statement is laughable).
