Once again neither me or my son had our ID or Covid pass checked. It is very easy to pass on your ticket under this protocol but, of course, at one point they may decided to check every supporter one day, like the do with commuters at Faversham station (and a clutch of feckless chavs all get fined).
I agree that it is very clunky though. If it weren't for Mrs T and her perseverence I would have given up this season. One of my brothers has given up.
You never heard of the phrase ?
In which case why not add the resells to the pretendence to come up with a new figure including both that really measures the “true” attendance? We could all stay away one week to create a new record crowd of 62,000+ and when other teams fans say “there’s no one there” we can smugly retort with “yes there are, we sold the tickets and that’s all that matters…”
That illegal thing is nonsense though. It’s not illegal if you inform the club and the ticket is passed on like all the other clubs do for FREE. Don’t fall for the lines the club are spinning.
I couldn’t go, couldn’t sell my tickets on the exchange and don’t know anyone whose paid £20 to be an Albion plus member. Hence my seats were empty.
Total waste….

The illegal thing was passed by government after Hillsborough when fans were blamed for the deaths, and has never been rescinded. The same as all seater stadia. The clubs and police want to know who is in the stadium.
Clubs turned a blind eye to it gradually but now following covid, the rules are being enforced again.
Blimey this discussion got tedious 8 years ago; everyone knows that not everyone who has a ticket turns-up, especially when other factors like KO day and time, weather, travel issues, etc. kick-in.
Can't find it on the BBC report, the Guardian report, Soccerbase nor Wikipedia.
Anyone seen it?
Yes and the point is it’s not about telling them who’s in the stadium - people can do that like Spurs have to etc - so the illegals point from PB is redundant when you look into it…
It’s about the money and red tape etc etc
It’s about money, I agree, but fans have been caught using concession tickets for adults, and banned fans have been in. Not everyone is honest.
My 16-year-old daughter has missed all three home games so far this season due to work or college commitments. Her seat in the family stand has remained empty – my wife and I have gone to the games without her.
In previous seasons that ticket would have been quietly passed to a friend who would inevitably buy a pie, and a pint, perhaps a programme too. Yes, it's against the letter of the law, but the club gets some matchday revenue and another voice in the crowd to cheer on the team. So I don't think anyone is being cheated.
The new ticket transfer system isn't much use to me and probably many others. It will explain a lot of the empty seats not just in bad weather but at pretty much every home game this season I suspect.
And leave hundred fuming in the departure lounge (Dick's bar).
